  2. I never understand why the Reds have to model themselves after the Rays. Why not model themselves after the Cardinals. If ownership is cheap, sell the team. Cardinals are not a big market team but they have owners who want to win. You shouldn’t buy a team to make a yearly profit, you buy it to make money when you SELL the team. If you don’t have the liquidity to spend the $$ get out. Cheap ownership is the Reds issue.
  3. I gave up once I scrolled and scrolled and scrolled...
  4. I hope he succeeds. Although he didn't do much, he passed the eye test for me.
  5. I am bit skeptical of this trade to be honest. If the trade improves the Lakers as much as they assume/anticipate, the Lakers 1st round pick(s) would be pretty low. There's got to be something else preventing the trade or the Lakers interest isn't has high as the rumors suggest. But I suppose the Lakers could be worried about starting a complete rebuild with ZERO first round picks, I am pretty sure the most recent one they still own is 2026. I don't really see the Pacers sticking with this one. They could get lower 1st rounders from other teams without taking on a huge contract.
  6. I would assume they are going to want at least one top 5 organizational prospect and probably two top 10. Reds are in a good position to get a massive haul. If not it would be a disaster. Castillo is at his peak in value.
  7. Too bad Ozzy isn't a natural born citizen. But you might be able to vote for Howard Stern.
  8. Once Woj said they weren’t interested in a sign and trade and intended to match, this deal was dead in the water. What happens with Turner should be interesting.
  9. Don't disagree. That being said, the Pacers should not fall for the Suns bluff. If Simon does this crony BS, then the Pacers are just as much a never has been franchise as anyone. Pacers need to be shrewd. This idea of helping another owner is ridiculous.
  10. It really depends how much the Pacers really want him, right? Suns could get more for him if they resigned him and kept him until January. If I were the Pacers, I wouldn't give up more than Turner. The best imaginable scenario would be if they do not match, then you could trade Turner for more assets. Turner is gone regardless. There's no way he's coming back after this. So my guess is the Pacers probably have another trade lined up if they don't trade Turner to the Suns.
  11. This makes the most sense (adding two more) and both of these schools would seem to be most logical although I could see Cal, Stanford etc. Nothing would surprise me at this point.
  12. But there were rumors once the SEC did their thing.
  13. I like good kickers. Teams like Indiana benefit the most since they aren't going to blow out the better competition most of the time, if ever. When the team wasn't so hot, special teams were a huge reason why. I like how CTA has prioritized kickers.
  14. Would have to bring another school. Seems ND isn't interested if they are going this route.
  15. Yeah, should be interesting. No divisions is next. There's no way only the "west" teams would fly out to California regularly.
  16. But I mean immediate talent to play regular minutes. To me talent includes feel for the game and confidence, not just physical tools. He has the physical talent to do well in the future, but he was overmatched in most games. I saw improvement, but his lack of confidence was obvious, and when the player doesn't have the confidence, the coaches will not either. But then I guess what you're saying is Lander was a head case as much as anything, which makes sense. But I don't think he was physically mature enough to compete either. Besides speed/quickness, he really couldn't do much. His shot did get better. I never understood why he didn't try to take it to the hole more often, he used to throw up a lot of garbage threes. But I was a fan and hoped he would stick it out. I think by his senior year he'll be really fun to watch.
  17. This seems more like a head case situation than talent (Lander).

  19. Yeah, I don’t remember anyone saying he was a one and one candidate though. Maybe he and his family or something like that, but no one here that I recall.
  20. Is KL Lander? And if so, I don't know who said he was "NBA this year" if you mean NBA ready? I guess what I am asking, what are you talking about?
