  1. Anyone thinking this loss is on Sheridan and not Warren/Allen doesn’t know football. McCulley needs the defense to step up. He’s a true freshman with limited first team snaps. Warren has All Americans on his roster. Sherdian is working with a MAC level OLine, receivers who run lazy routes and don’t get open and a QB who’s being thrown to the wolves
  2. I can’t even assess Tuttle and Sheridan because the OL is literally so incapable of performing at even a reasonable level. If Hiller survives the season then performance means nothing to CTA
  3. He’s 21 years old and a 4th year player/student. These comments are dumb
  4. If you want to give Texas credit for scheduling Arkansas back when they were challenging Vandy for the basement of the SEC, be my guest. If Arkansas wins more than 3 more games this year (despite being spotted 2 by the “great” state of Texas) I’ll be shocked. They aren’t a top 15 team after today and they most definitely won’t be at the end of the year.
  5. Texas didn’t deserve to be ranked and won’t be by the end of the season. Oklahoma is wildly overrated but fortunately for them, they won’t ever play anyone in the top 15 to actually test them until their bowl game unless Ok St. can keep up their momentum. Even that may be fools gold as Ok St doesn’t play anyone. The Big12 is such a crap conference and their top tier teams won’t play anyone outside of conference outside Iowa St’s obligatory game vs Iowa.
  6. Penix would have a season ending injury on that play.
  7. Catch a damn pass and maybe your fans will spell your name right. As it stands, “Ryfogle” is about the best thing one could call him
  8. Don’t think Matt is leaving an OC gig with the Steelers for this sh*t show but one can always dream. We had our chance to hire him and Allen didn’t take it
  9. If for nothing else, the kid absolutely sacrificed his body despite his OL. Penix obviously isn’t interested in taking the kinda hits Peyton took and I don’t blame him
  10. I don’t think it matters what play is called if the OL can’t even play at a MAC level. If you don’t block and you don’t get open no play call works
  11. Good to hear. Forgive me, is “off back” the RB/WR hybrid position Ellis plays? Not familiar with that term.
  12. Kinda surprised/discouraged that Jaquez Smith isn’t being mentioned, and to my knowledge, hasn’t been mentioned by CTA at all this season. He seemed power 5 football ready out of high school and I’m really hoping this isn’t Rashwan Williams all over again
  13. Yea, I mean I’d like to think I’d be smart enough to word it differently or refrain from saying that at all publicly but I don’t disagree with the sentiment. If I’m CTA I’m printing that quote and providing it to the officials prior to the game to make sure those flags come out quick upon anything close to a transgression.
  14. You literally only care because Purdue managed to squeeze out a win. Yes, USC is terrible, Purdue still sucks…carry on
  15. Then I’ve got nothin. Campbell can hit from 60 at will so coming up short from 52 looked out of character for him. Glaf he got another crack at it. Even happier to have a kid like that who’s just so automatic. He would have won the Groza already if he got more attempts
  16. Do they use different balls for field goals/kick offs? CTA got in the manager’s a** when he wasn’t around to get a ball in on a kickoff, screaming “that’s twice!!!” I wonder if they didn’t have the correct ball on that FG attempt
  17. Peters was 3/4 passing before he got hurt against Nebraska…rough crowd…guess he needed to be 4/4 with 4 TDs? Sitkowski barely completes over 50% of his passes which is why Peters started over him at less than 100% last week. I expect Peters to bounce back against Purdue with last week under his belt but if not, Illinois doesn’t get better under Sitkowski and may not win another Bigten game the rest of the way.
  18. Illinois is a much better team than their record if Peters can get back to week 1 form. With Bell out along with the other injuries, I suspect Purdue will get all they can handle and then some this week
  19. You hit the nail on the head. It’s a cash grab. I’m sure they are IU fans but this isn’t some philanthropic quest to attract and reward IU athletes. It’s annoying at best, and exploitative at its core.
  20. Point being, there’s no record of them actually doing anything for IU’s players. Simply stating they are working to set up a NIL platform is the same as me saying I’m starting a charity for cancer research…sounds cool, means nothing
  21. Is there any info as to what/how much this is producing for the athletes? All I’ve found is that the NIL platform was created by them but who cares if it’s not actually generating material revenue to disperse
  22. Glad to see he’s able to move around. His neck was torqued pretty violently as his helmet bounced off the ground
  23. More important is the vibe in the locker room. If his hosts are upset about the loss there’s not much fun to be had the rest of the visit. Hope for the best and a poor OSU performance against Tulsa
