  1. There’s more #6-15 Indiana HS kids who’ve actually made an impact in college than 1-5 in the last ten years. There have been a lot of busts in that top tier. I think it would be nice to land them, give me solid athletes from Florida, Texas, Ohio and Michigan any day. Also, to btown’s point, we do very well in state in the first place.
  2. 72 years to achieve it; 4 days to lose it…nothing more “Purdue” than that.
  3. You can’t give up 30 offensive rebounds and beat anybody much less Villanova. We caught the Syracuse Boeheims on the wrong night, at home where they were hitting everything they threw at the rim. That said, Nova was less than impressive for 35 min
  4. I keep seeing fans referencing his HC record at UMASS as to why it’s a “bad hire”. I can’t think of a more irrelevant data point. Some coaches are better as coordinators rather than overseeing the entire operation…also, it’s UMASS. All I care about is if he’s able to manage a game and gameplan for upcoming opponents. Hopefully he’s really good at that and recruits buy into his style
  5. Archie never ran the huddles either. Woodson tends to let Fife manage the sets and will pull guys aside for one on one instruction. I think Fife is taking over for Woodson as soon as he’s ready to retire which may be sooner than later
  6. If Kopp can’t keep that guy infront of him I don’t have anything for him.
  7. Bates needs more minutes…period. Kid plays hard. Also, these refs are trash
  8. Stepping on the troat is not our specialty
  9. I think Leal should be in for Kopp. It’s just not MK’s day today and Leal is better defensively.
  10. I would argue that they are overly aggressive fouls, which I still don’t love but can tolerate more than silly/lazy fouls. I also think he gets some bad calls based on how aggressive he guards. Refs anticipate fouls on him that aren’t always there
  11. Sometimes kids need to be shown what Indiana basketball should like
  12. It’s gotta be a confidence issue. They go into their shots hoping it goes in when they need go into their shots knowing it’s going in. I guarantee they drain them at a high level in practice
  13. No they weren’t…by the time Purdue worked its way to 3rd, Kansas had already locked that up an never lost it. Kentucky was also rated higher the entire season. Losing Hummel had nothing to do with it
  14. Odd that none of those RB recruits “@“ Coach Mac though
  15. Coach Wright is relentless…seems like he was mentioned in almost all those announcements
  16. Normally I’d absolutely agree but with the OC being in flux, you never know how/if these kids even fit into his plans. I’m a firm believer in that it’s rarely what you do but how you do it that matters and only the current staff and these kids are privy to that at the moment.
  17. No, he had some bad drops and caused at least one INT from Penix because he ran the wrong route. Got benched and never saw the field again. Probably for good reason
  18. One can dream…it’s such a tough hire for CTA. Get a homerun and he’ll be gone in a year or two…get an up and comer and you risk failure.
  19. There’s nothing to be skeptical of Spencer Rattler’s play. If CTA can somehow get him he’s the best QB in the room without question.
  20. I’m not counting any of these guys as gone until they sign eslewhere. I don’t blame kids for entering in to see their options. If we make a good OC hire, he’ll lobby hard to keep a couple of these kids
  21. Cumulative Time of Possession: IU: 29:49/game Opponents: 30:11/game https://iuhoosiers.com/sports/football/stats/2021 This lists game by game. IU won the ToP battle exactly half the time. Penn St and Minnesota were the only games where the ToP was heavily lopsided for the opponent.
  22. He’s never called the plays at any level. Making him OC seems very risky…assuming he’d even want that role
  23. I don’t disagree but if not for dropped passes we probably beat Cincy. This has been a very weird season when you consider we played 5th string walk ons at QB/RB for half the season and our best receiver led the conference in drops. Ryan Day could have been our coordinator and we wouldn’t have faired much better. I’m in no way arguing the offense was performing well but we had zero healthy talent on that side of the ball for most of the year. Ultimately I think Allen needed to do better than Sheridan but it’s not correct to blame this season on him. Warren had 10 starters back, got Ball back from injury and added two starting D Lineman only to go from first to worst in takeaways, 3rd best to worst in scoring defense while still giving up almost 400 yards per game despite all these claims that field position issues caused by the offense was more to blame than the defense.
  24. I didn’t say the defense didn’t have injuries they just weren’t as costly and catastrophic to the game plan as the offense. My point was simply that the defense far underperformed compared to the offense…Injuries on both sides considered
  25. The offense hasn’t thrown a pick 6 since the MSU game so to blame the defensive struggles of the second half of the season on “pick 6s” is weird. The defense didn’t have nearly the catastrophic injuries and defections the offense had either so my point was, if you want to make a statement firing, the DC is first to go and it isn’t even close. Hiller still having a job right now when Sheridan is fired is just as confusing. I can understand why the offense sucked this year but the defense has literally zero excuse, including “injuries”.
