  1. He’s a former NFL RB coach of the year with a Super Bowl ring…there literally isn’t a better college RB coach candidate on the planet.
  2. He has no future in the NBA without developing a jump shot. I don’t think he’s coming back to IU to develop one, however.
  3. Mostly disappointed on the offensive execution and lack of effort on perimeter defense. Guys like Geronimo and Galloway who normally bring elite energy & effort seemed a little lethargic today. We need a wing who can score and open up things for the others. Out of Kopp, Bates, Geronimo & Galloway…someone needs to step up and be that guy if we’re gonna be successful going forward. We incredibly mediocre at that position
  4. It’s also a rough matchup for us. TJD isn’t big enough to guard Cockburn and it’s causing our guards to double leaving wide open shooters. We are good enough to beat Illinois but we need to be more efficient on offense and give up less wide open 3s on defense in order to do so.
  5. Race is not a perimeter defender. Inexcusable to have him on Grandison
  6. He came to IU to be Associate Head Coach so as to put him in a position to become a head coach someday; as well as coach his sons. I believe the opportunity he thought signed up for didn’t come fruition when CTA ignored his concerns about Hiller so he took the ND job. Afterall, if his AHC title didn’t mean anything to Allen and he had no say in the direction of this program, go be the RB coach at an actual contender. However, now that an opening in the NFL is being offered, and Sequon Barkley is on that roster…no brainer.
  7. Honestly; I think this makes more sense for DM. No recruiting and the ability to occasionally fly into town to see his kids games. Likely more money hence “ND trying to keep him”.
  8. Anyone else expected to join or are we done?
  9. Yea, it could be similar to that AJ Johnson kid who got ALL the offers only to get hurt and then visit only IU & FAU. I’m sure most if not all those offers expired. In this kids case, your guess is as good as any. Maybe he also got hurt and it’s not widely known? I thought he was impressive on that reel but would like to see some video of him rushing the QB. Either way, it’s a position we need more depth on so I see nothing wrong with taking a chance on him.
  10. He played on the edge in HS. I didn’t see a single dropback pass rush on his highlight reel though so it’s kinda hard to tell just how quick he is. He’s definitely lean for 266lbs, moves well, hits hard and a very good motor.
  11. 100%. The only thing I believe to be fact is that DM and CTA didn’t see eye to eye on the direction of the OL and Hiller. It is; however, strictly my opinion (remember, that’s what this forum is for) that CTA screwed this up and should have listened to DM (and others) regarding Hiller. It also my opinion/theory that DM expected to have more authority and input over the direction of the offense than CTA has allowed. As for leaving KC, He was literally the best in the NFL at his job and if it wasn’t working out for whatever reason, he didn’t need to come to Indiana for a new job. Andy Reid said at the time that his departure was unexpected and DM said Allen reached out with this opportunity to be AHC and all things considered (future coaching aspirations, family life, coaching his sons, etc.) it was an offer he couldn’t pass up.
  12. Well now that is news to me. The 2020 NFL RB Coach of the year was fired??? Ok then. I know what DM said when asked why he left KC to take the IU job. He doesn’t strike me as a liar but you’ve heard otherwise.
  13. First of all and most importantly, I’m calmer than you are. I explained in great detail what I believe happened and why I think DM is moving on. As for Dasan, I donno man…maybe it’s his NIL, maybe it’s because the issues are on the other side of the ball, maybe he likes it at IU and doesn’t want to go to ND, maybe he has personal issues with the Catholic church??? I donno, Ask him. I don’t even care to speculate in other than to reiterate that Dasan may still change his mind (just as he did before with his OSU decision) if in fact NIL isn’t going to be an issue. I don’t know where all your blind loyalty to CTA comes from either but that’s your prerogative…it’s ok to have a different position. Based on the facts, small amount or info I’ve been told, and logic/timing behind the move, I believe CTA messed this up. I don’t think there’s bad blood but I do think DM wanted a different opportunity than he ultimately got. Regardless, I’m not gonna tell you what to believe…do you. Perhaps you can afford me the same.
  14. Yea, they probably should! They can’t afford my buy out though!!!!
  15. There’s a big difference between “bad blood” and “this isn’t what I signed up for, good luck, I’m moving on”
  16. I’ll post whatever the hell I want homie
  17. He left the KC Chiefs for Indiana so that argument doesn’t hold weight. The speculation is because of that fact and that he’s leaving his family for a demotion, unless ND is also making him AHC. There’s also word from inside the athletic department confirming DM was upset with the OL situation and Hiller, went to Allen and was rebuffed….allegedly….so there’s that
  18. Lol. You’re not only missing the point, you don’t even have a logical counter point…but whatever man. LEO
  19. Ah, my bad. I thought that was Dasan. Didn’t pay close enough attention after clicking the link
  20. That’s not how any of this was set up. He was brought in as the AHC. It wasn’t some made up title to justify the increased salary. He came here to put himself in a position to one day be a Head Coach and coach his kids. He publicly stated he wasn’t leaving KC for just another college RBC gig. If he was going to “bail after one more season” then why have DJ transfer here to sit the bench, Dasan spurn OSU and have Daeh commit to IU when he won’t even still be here? Everything points to CTA screwing this up and literally nothing points to “DM wanted a better opportunity at ND”.
  21. Well no, you’re not reading it right. Everyone who’s commented as such (including myself) is focusing on how DM is leaving not “that” he is leaving. If the Hiller rumor is false, I’ll happily retract my statement…hell I’ll send TA an apology letter. However, this doesn’t appear to be DM leaving because he’d just rather coach at contender like ND. He left (on his own accord) the KC ef’ing Chiefs to come to Indiana.
  22. In my opinion this is a huge understatement. Fans and beat writers had been harping on Allen all season about the OL play. It was the healthiest (and probably deepest in terms of experience, outside of LBs) room on the team and they were so bad Allen had to step in and make changes for Hiller publicly. Sheridan was down to a true freshman scout team QB (who was supposed to redshirt) and a walkon who wasn’t even good in High School. DM was down to a couple of walk ons at RB. WR room had its own issues, injuries and otherwise, but with the QB situation it didn’t matter. The defense was plagued with injuries all season and had a brand new DC. If Allen was going to fire anyone, Hiller was the only obvious choice. So “IF” DM (as the AHC) said we need a change and Allen refused, this is an absolute failure on Allen’s part to be objective, professional and frankly do his job. Letting DM leave to draw a line in the sand for Hiller would be absolute negligence.
