The net rankings always get me. Houston is number 1 at 23-2. 11-1 quad 1 and 2. And a loss to a Quad 3 team. Purdue 23-2. 13-2 against quad 1 and 2 (9 quad 1 wins vs 4 for Houston) and no quad 3 and 4 losses. Yet they are number 4. What computer rankings make that make any sense..

Malik was a defensive liability last night on smaller players. I feel like Race was as well with being late on rotations, allowing second chances. If he’s healthy I want him out there. But when he’s hobbled he’s a liability as well. I feel like it should have been a perfect spot for JG to come in if healthy but even the couple mins he was in he looked lost. Agree with the blanket statement, but it’s hard to think objectively in a tight game with Race struggling on O a lot more. Things are going to pile up. With race hobbled, and JG and Banks looking to have a mild defensive IQ deficit that “4” spot leaves a little to be desired on defense right now. Love Banks rebounding though.

Any college basketball game that I have watched this year that almost an automatic foul, yet 3 times it happened and nothing. Not gonna complain about the refs much because we were being awfully physical too with our ball pressure.

Our defense was good today. We need to get a little more under control closing out on threes, left alot there in the first half. Glad we pulled it out given we hit 2 shots the last 10 minutes. Best game I’ve seen from Kopp in an IU uni. Also…god bless race for trying…but man I want Malik in there to rebound. Race is hobbled, his shots broke, he can’t box out as well…he needs to get healed up. It’s gonna kill us in a close game eventually. Glad he hit his free throws though.

I think given the next 4/5 on the road and how tight the standings are we can’t afford to lose at home (besides it being Rutgers and them being a very good team). Need to keep the positive momentum going into a tough stretch we have coming. I think a loss here would be a psychological blow given how we have played recently.

North Carolina offense last 5 minutes was putrid. Holy crap. No plays. Just dribble and throw stuff up.

Gotta play smarter. Making a lot of fouls that look to be out of frustration/getting beat.

I’m not saying it’s all in Yasir. But somebody should have benched JHS for a couple minutes in the second half when he was killing us. Somebody should have put Reneau back in. Somebody should have said hey let’s stop rushing shots and get it to TJD at least once every possession and see what happens. It’s not all on him. But as a staff somebody has to make those decisions.

Tjd saved us. Great clutch plays in the last couple minutes. But overall wow. Substitutions were just baffling. Like what game were they watching. jhs shooting over and over rushed shots early in clock. Race playing. Malik dominating then only 1 minute in second half. Just overall mind. boggling.
