  1. Not sure I know what you are asking, but I am saying players leaving a program before mid-year because they are dissatisfied on how they are being used is happening more frequently. Because of this, I think it is smart to fully staff your team. You have to expect the unexpected. Players leave, they get hurt, they don't develop how you expect. Take a flyer on raw player, a player that has the skills, but not the build/athleticism. But don't leave a spot open for the sake of leaving a spot open. I think the chance of a player leaving mid-season versus transferring in are far greater, so I would not leave the scholly open for that, if that is the counter.
  2. Not to mention, transferring mid-season isn't the oddity it once was. Combine that with injuries and your team can get small really quick.
  3. Earlier in the thread Bloomington was compared to Portland.
  4. I'll also add that outside of the doom and gloom that you may read on conservative media, Portland is great city. Does it have some of the at West Coast hippie, liberal attitude about? Very much, but it also eclectic city surrounded my so much natural beauty. It is not the warzone everyone makes it out to be, although their Chinatown was a bit suspect. Cities with any sort of age are always going to have problems due to having to deal with diversity, aging infrastructure, and now changing dynamics in market (work from home, online shopping, etc.), but I'd like to think human's are still social people that want to be near each other.
  5. Oh, i agree, but it is a damned if you do, damned if you don't on several of those issues and in the end you are still a state employee. Abortion and Palestine/Israel is a loser no matter which way you go in this state, although the percentages would generally tell you otherwise. Not going say what those percentages are though lol. Although, blocking free speech is never the way to go imo.
  6. She is just in a rock and hard place. Indiana is very much a conservative run state that and the university has a lot of liberal thinking throughout. It is a balancing act to keep the funding flowing from the state, but not impose restrictions on free thinking. Many of the issues are no-win situations no matter who is in charge.
  7. I know they removed all of it at one point. Are they repopulating? Was there last summer, but can't remember. Too many AMFs.
  8. If you think the coach is leading the charge on fundraising behind the scenes, then I don't know what to tell you. Yes, the coach is giving his time to shake hands, make appearances, etc., but the AD is the person that doing the real work. It ain't Woody or any coach for that matter. They just show up where and when they are told, although obviously there are probably some personal relationships there in some instances. That has been well-established this past will-he-or-won't-he be our coach next year event a month or so ago.
  9. I don't care about the money part. I'm still over Woody. If you look back at my posts since 247 days, I have always been calling for the program to modernize and play in the gray. I'm just not going to give Woody credit for recruiting, when if we had Dusty or any other decent coach, we wouldn't be getting the same results as long as the money behind the scenes were there. We still need a complete overhaul of our branding, marketing, apparel, uniforms, etc.
  10. Sorry @btownqb, I'm one of those fans that have followed the team around the country and spent my money supporting them, but got called not a true fan, because I criticized a beyond sub-par product on the court this past year. Not letting that go anytime soon.
  11. I get it and I'm fine with it. It is nice to finally be able to do what everyone else has been doing, but I'm just not going to call this a win for Woody. Sorry, not going to do it. This is about the school, the fans, and the money behind the school because of the fans. Let's not pretend otherwise.
  12. I'd like to congratulate our donors and offer thanks. Welcome to Indiana, Ballo.
  13. I like you boiler. You’re are cards fan and sometimes reasonable, but sometimes you are exhausting. There are always exceptions, but focus on the rule. Generally speaking, no win = no fans = no media = no 💵. With that, IU’s tank is starting to run low. The RMK years are only going to last for so much longer, then generations will die off with the younger ones loyalty being less or going elsewhere. It’s why we are at such a crossroads with our program.
  14. You think we have the checkbook without the tradition?
  15. NCAA is well past charges at this point. We are in a new era of CBB and Football. Outside of minor rules stuff, the major stuff is all above board at this point. NCAA has no teeth.
  16. Dislike UK with the best of them, but I wouldn't be going after their girls. Just go to Keeneland this past weekend.
  17. They had continuity coming back and holdovers from a team that went to the championship game. Not even remotely the same scenario. We are rebuilding more than half of our roster.
  18. Let's not forget Painter almost left for Mizzou and Purdue fans were okay with it at the time.
  19. Any guesses on who the player who was approached from Purdue with a 1 mil offer? Edey is the only person I could think of worth that, but curious if I'm missing something here?
