  1. People need to be allowed to evolve and get better. I am all for holding people accountable, but if they are never afforded the ability to get better and move forward, then what is the point? He was still in his formative years at IU and, as you mentioned, appears to have grown and matured. God help me if I am judged for the stupid mistakes and wrong decisions I made early on in life. RIP Jamarcus.
  2. Banks and Gunn. We need continuity from year to year and people growing within the program. We can't always count on new people coming in and picking things up quickly. It is the thing I think Kentucky struggles with...the lack of continuity from year to year.
  3. When are we going to get rid of the 'Ten' and just call ourselves 'The Big' conference?
  4. He was waiting on his father supposedly. From TOS. I think it is valid that this is a kid who is away from home for the first time and was probably scared/not sure how to handle. Also, HoosierHoopster is a lawyer, so there is some validity in what he saying/asking.
  5. See what y'all did. You made a Purdue person the voice of reason.
  6. Honestly, I saw worst worst behavior from students at T. Bell and other establishments well beyond this that didn't escalate to this level. I am looking at this not from the perspective he is a 5* athlete, but a student at point in time where not always the best judgement is used. It just seems unnecessary from all sides in many ways. I will also add I have had plenty of experience with Taco Bell establishments ordering online well before closing on to have meal cancelled for delivery or the place to be closed upon going to pick up my order with people still inside. There is one near me that on several occasions the employees closed just because. They are poorly ran. I wish every fast food establishment would go and learn the methods of Chick-fil-a. One of the best run business period.
  7. Doth protest too much, methinks. You've stated your perspective ad nauseum. We get it. You are very much pro police and the burden of conduct is always on citizens. I think it started with Mgbako and the T Bell employees, but I do believe the busting of window was unnecessary and leads me to believe the police came in hot from the jump. Your blind with your own feelings to think police shouldn't be met with some skepticism given some of the conduct of the men and women in blue (and the inability for good cops to call out bad cops in many situations). How could someone not think the worst if a cop asks you to get out of a vehicle? All you have to do is a simple google search to see what happens too often, even when a person complies. I think this could have been resolved with some patience in letting it simmer. In a college town, this situation is probably a reoccurring thing the police encounter weekly.
  8. Looking forward to the video of him selecting IU starting with him picking up the phone to 'answer the call.'
  9. I assume there was a work around (there always is), but still given his stature as an NBA owner, wasn't sure he was willing to work the system.
  10. I thought he couldn't due to potential NBA conflicts with players once they opt for the draft.
  11. You don't need games where you are recruiting, unless it is across the country. Every game is available to watch and be on TV. This whole idea of the game being in Indianapolis gives Kentucky something for recruiting is antiquated thought of a time when games were on regional, local TV channels. Kentucky is Kentucky and them playing here isn't going to make them more attractive to local prospects. Teague, Lyle, and Brook's say hello.
  12. I find it interesting that Under Armor is not stepping up with an NIL or cash. Didn't the person who founded it come from Maryland?
  13. Please let this be a new version of the bend don’t brake kids from a covid season. Opportunistic turnovers and fantastic play on 3rd downs. Loving the grit.
  14. How is everyone watching? Can’t access cbs bc of dispute with ATT. Tried paramount plus free trial, but have wasn’t option.
  15. I've heard locked so many times only for it not to come to fruition...I will still take the field, unless there is some larger entity pushing him to Duke for some reason outside of himself. I still think Scheyer is unproven and not someone you can latch your future onto like K.
  16. Would be nice if we could get into the Cooper Flagg conversation...
  17. I actually don't want rules that will affect the ability of college basketball to have varying types of offenses and defenses. That is the one thing that makes it special versus the NBA. I want to see contrasting styles where run and gun teams are stifled by more prodding offense and steadfast defense as an example and can overcome talent gaps. It creates a certain level of gamesmanship and puts emphasis on strategy/philosophy. It makes it more interesting and allows teams to punch up from a talent perspective. I do love the NBA, but style and statistics have pretty much made the name of the game the same across all teams with small variation.
  18. Woody and staff is bringing it. I can't think of anytime ever where we were basically only targeting top-50 players and getting so much positive activity with them. Really extraordinary what he (along with the NIL most likely) has been able to do in barely two years.
  19. In addition to that, MLB attendance, viewership (which is often more regional versus national sans a few select games) is very much on the rise. Rob Manfred has been doing an excellent job modernizing the game with new rules and better player marketing than what has existed for last 20 years or so. It sort of fell off a cliff in the 90s and much of that had to do with them not marketing their superstars better. Also, the rules related to shortening the length of games along with blocking some of the stats based strategies that took away from the game (i.e. shifts) has led to a more enjoyable product.
  20. In fairness, one game a week in the NFL is always going to get more eyes than 3-4 games in the NBA or MLB in a week. It is not really a fair comparison. With that being said, money is coming somewhere in the MLB and NBA, so it can't be that far down. The player salaries and revenue continue to rise.
  21. Bears season will be in the tank by that time anyhow to make it an easier decision lol.
  22. Meh, I don't know. The Catholic aura that surrounded Notre Dame with immigrants from coast to coast has sort of dwindled. I am not saying the brand is weak, but it just isn't the days of Rudy anymore where they appealed to everyone from the wealthy down to the blue collar workers in factories.
