Curious to see if NBC getting some rights to B1G games will help or hurt our cause with Notre Dame. The word prior was NBC was looking to add some games to either lead into or run post weekly ND game.

I could also see them formalizing the lacrosse and hockey league with other schools for only thos sports as well. You could get a lot of academic schools with lacrosse. We already have notre dame and Johns Hopkins. I want this to be not only the strongest sports league, but collection of academic schools in the country. I want my degree to gain stature nationally.

I agree, but I think ucla and usc will want other partners on west coast. If I’m guessing other conference interests, it would be uva, unc, duke, Syracuse, Pitt, kansas, clemson, Iowa state. FSU, Miami, notre dame, ga tech, BC, UCONN.

UCLA and usc land of rights deal expire next year, hence why this move is easy. I think the others come afte the PAC is destabilized because of these moves.

I would say Stanford would be the next crown jewel along with Oregon (Nike money and great market and Washington next with once again great market in Seattle with tech money) Everyone always underestimates academic money that is generated by research schools and Stanford is arguably the most prestigious school in country to due to proximity to Silicon Valley, tech, and San Francisco. I would also say that Cal is coveted because of this as well and Colorado because of Denver market. These are all of the tech cities growing by leaps and bounds in the west outside of maybe SLC.

I feel like when it was clear the team was not going to make any noise, he focused solely on his stats, which doesn't diminish it necessarily, but I am not sure he was playing to win any longer.

I knew the play in game was a strong possibility. We are going to have to scrap for every bit of respect. It’s garbage, but a week ago we weren’t in, so I’ll take it. Let’s make some noise.

That was me. It’s not because I believe we are in the play in games, but weird stuff happens all of the time and I want to leave no doubt we are squarely in the big big dance.

Played well, but just can’t close. This team has progressed, despite what our record says. They battle and always bring their defense. Also, the foul differential, outside of Purdue’s intentional fouls down stretch, was nuts.

Rob being out has hurt us immensely. He was starting to turn the corner and bring energy with the second unit. That and the debacle with players being suspended created this spiral. His defense would have been useful down the stretch against Wisconsin and I think he could have provided us with some shots that would have put us over the top. Also, that overturned call at the end on the out of bounds was complete BS and we win if that doesn't happen.

It’s legal in Illinois though. Listen, I’m disappointed, but the reactions to the offense are over the top. There are far more dangerous things out there than weed society ignores. I generally look at the biggest problem is they didn’t think about the team, but the kids should be disciplined and move on unless this turns into pattern.

I was at this game. Easily one of the most entertaining games I've had the pleasure to watch, let along attend.

Agree. They have a lot of great young talent that could build into something really great as this season goes along, but the team lacks that person who has charisma and showmanship. Lance Stephenson wasn't a star, but he was must watch during his time with the team for how he played on the court and engaged with the fans while on the court. Outside of Myles, you don't really see any of the players out and about in the city with billboards, etc.

In football, especially college, it is all about building momentum. This schedule never allowed for that to happen, thus it snowballing into the mess it has become. Look at Penn State's season last year or looking at Michigan State's this year. It is all about being able to build off the previous week and not lead you off a cliff, but between schedule, injuries, coaching changes, it literally chopped all momentum we had going into the season very swiftly. To quote Ted Lasso to sum up the season, it's the hope that kills and we needed to be more like goldfish.

I agree and disagree. No one knows how this season is going to play out for every team. Someone potentially will get desperate or feel they are a piece or two away. Right now, there isn't move, but that could change in a month and you don't want to sell low on a borderline All-NBA guy. No reason not to wait and see if market improves. They are going to make playoffs with or without Simmons, so see what happens between trade deadline. I would argue Simmons stock can't go much lower. There is always going to be a team that thinks they can bring them into their system and do better with him. I just don't see Simmons happy other than a big market and feel he is only an asset to a championship contender. Everyone in the next level, this is a lateral move at best.

Yeah, I can't wait until the inevitable accident someone gets into or takes one of these cars and goes road racing with it.

My guess is it is a lease. Dealerships and brands do this all of the time with celebrities. They lease or loan them a car with the idea they are going to be seen driving it around and it increases awareness.
