  1. No offense to anybody I’ll believe there’s no chance when he chooses another school. I’ve yet to see anybody on here get it right at a high clip. Again, no offense, not saying don’t stop posting what you want and what you hear, but my hopes have been burned too many times to take much stock in “insiders”.
  2. D1 - can’t get drafted until your junior year unless you turn 21 prior. JUCO - can get drafted after any year.
  3. “Better record last year” is a little bit of a distortion of the circumstances wouldn’t you say? Just count two cupcakes, similar to this year, and where are we last year?
  4. Nope. My confused look was about your comment of not wanting him play, but not agreeing that he wouldn’t help.
  5. Why has this thread turned into another Archie thread?
  6. I can tell when Indykev scores at home, and this post was definitely not following that.
  7. Still missing the point bc that’s not what was claimed. Carry on. Or go over to the postgame thread and complain where it’s actually warranted.
  8. Point is, why are you simply re-hashing the point Purdue beat us out on a recruit this year when we’ve dominated them on in-state recruiting the last three years? Looks like you’re just searching for something to complain about. Duncomb > Furst. We missed on Kauffman. One kid we really wanted that Purdue got in 4 years.
  9. Yeah, I think you’re missing the point. My comment was geared at that being awfully short-sighted. He said we are losing the best recruits in Indiana to Purdue. I guess we’re only looking at this year?
  10. Losing out to Purdue on the best Indiana recruits? Since when? Not last year or the year before.
  11. Some saw this as a possibility before the pandemic. It’s okay.
  12. Hasn’t been much happen since then due to COVID, but I know how it all works.
  13. Some on here said he had no chance to go in the very early rounds. Sounds like that’s not true. And if he does go early he won’t be attending school in Bloomington.
  14. Why are you so pessimistic? From a results standpoint it’s pretty hard to argue that we haven’t improved each year under CAM. From a recruiting, defensive, and effort standpoint it’s not even close to the previous 7-8 years with Crean, and that’s a direct result of CAM. Crean left an awful group of players from a talent standpoint. Hopefully with a team fully built by CAM this year we’ll see the offense improve as well which will result in more wins. He absolutely deserves the benefit of the doubt up to this point. You weren’t willing to give him a few years to build something? This year and next we need to start seeing better results, no doubt.
  15. Posted this in another thread, but somewhat related to the discussion here. It what is and we need to see continued improvement, but man. Agree, but man that schedule including non-conference is TOUGH. Looking at the pre-season top 25 (AP and Coaches) we have 15 games of 27 against ranked teams (assuming we play Texas and UNC in the Maui). We have an additional 4 games against teams getting votes in Providence, Purdue (2) and Maryland. That is 19 of 27 extremely tough games. This doesn’t include Butler or road games at NEB or NWestern. Which leaves us with ONLY 5 games we can look at and saythat should definitely be a W (Tenn Tech, N Alabama, N-western at home, PSU at home and Minny at home). WOW!
  16. Agree, and even if we were slightly more talented, it was negated by two players that are no longer here.
  17. To each his own, but first, crap, even second round money can be life changing money. Not too many pass that up.
  18. Not if he gets drafted in the first round.
  19. Just seemed like you went out of your way to mention Smith, but your explanation makes sense. Sounds like they could compliment each other if the work ethic from both is there.
  20. Probably could have been left unsaid if you feel that way.
  21. I can see that, especially if we play small. But that means we’ll need him to be able to bang / rebound. Are we confident that he’s tough enough to handle that aspect?
  22. I’ll take your word for it, and agree we have enough guys for meaningful minutes, but I’m not confident we found the shooter we needed and I’m not confident we have that 3/4 guy who can both bang and make shots. I feel like we have plenty of 3s and 5s, but nobody who truly fills the 4 role. I guess we’ll see. I’d be much more comfortable if I felt we improved shooting-wise for NEXT YEAR through recruiting, as I think we can manage with RT, JB, and TJD down low. I just feel like we’ll be slightly better as a whole bc CAM has constructed a roster full of guys that fit his style, but I’m struggling in having the confidence that we’ll be a lot better. A second true PG in Lander keeps the ball out of AD’s hands and others, so that’s huge, but other than that I don’t feel like we fixed our major need.
  23. I know this isn’t the 2020 hub, but after the Smith transfer I feel like we really need a shooter and another PF type in 2020. I wasn’t a JS fan, but as a senior filling the role he developed this past year I was okay with him and felt he fit in. Any grad transfers out there we’re still in on that could fill the shooter role or PF spot? @CoachSS who are we still recruiting for the upcoming year? Anybody? Feel like we’re short-handed right now.
  24. How the hell did I forget Kauffman!? Edit: I had my tears mixed up. Was thinking of 2020 as 2021 and so on.
