Goes to show Woody's not afraid to schedule better challenges than the typical early season cupcake. That probably helps the players get better focused.

Two of the starting five absolutely have as much talent. Reneau is very close. The other two make up for the talent gap with experience. I don't think the quality of the starting five is that much different. I was speaking more to the unknowns in both starting fives at the beginning of the season and how voters just assume that UK will be a final four contender, which is a crapshoot given their history. ...but yeah...Calipari is mostly a great assembler of talent. I think it's fair to question his ability to coach and develop given the multiple flameouts he's coached.

As someone who's watched the Calipari hype train for years, I can't help but think if this roster had UK on their jerseys, they'd be top-5 preseason. Ridiculous, I know, but how many times have we seen a highly-rated UK team drift down in the rankings and then flame out at tournament time? Cal gets a lot of undeserved benefit of the doubt when restocking a new roster with lots of questions. IU does not. It's that simple.

It rarely does, but I didn't expect the stat line I saw on these two based on the in-game commentary. I'm with Steub...it felt like some of our members were looking for small stuff to complain about. Considering this is the second exhibition game with two comfortable wins, I'd hate for our fanbase to have to watch a team effort like Louisville, St. Johns, or even Purdue.

Maryland insiders are convinced that Geronimo is a "game changer". Reading that WIllard has shortened practice due to Geronimo's athleticism. The hype is interesting to say the least.

Just based on the stat sheet, the in-game negativity on Banks and Gunn appears a little unfair.

Yeah, Maryland has been the "favorite" for some time now, but it just feels like lazy analysis. Guessing that things will not firm up until right before the announcement as quiet as this one has been. I don't see Maryland as a favorite. Not at all. He may end up there because it's close to home, but there are a lot of compelling reasons to choose a school, shall we say, further west?

...and if you don't have Plus, I'm guessing you'll be able to see the 60 minute version a couple of days later like last time.

I mean, we know Payne sucks, but doesn't Payne have a big buyout this early? You know it's bad if they are throwing in the towel after an exhibition game. Also seeing that Payne got in an altercation with a player today. This may go down as a top ten worst hire all-time for college basketball.

I see. I'm with you. No offense to coach McCracken, but Knight was frankly more successful. I just don't know that they'd rename something already named after a hall of fame coach.

Interesting. I think it's great if they rename the court after Coach Knight, but I didn't expect that since it was already named for coach McCracken. Knight is, IMO more deserving just a tad surprised they are renaming it, even though I'd absolutely do it if I were in charge.

😭 Just hard to describe the feeling of loss. I echo the sentiments of Hoosier Nation...so glad he had the opportunity to mend fences and receive the show of love and respect he deserved while he was still able.

Sounds like Louisville recognized him as a very good recruiter and took a chance on his coaching ability. Unfortunately, it appears he has less coaching ability than Patrick Ewing.

He's got to be a candidate for worst D1 coach.
