Saw MSU was a stellar 1-11 from distance against USI. They look nothing like a top 5 team at this point.

Yeah, I get that. I would have honestly been a lot more surprised if they were operating smoothly like an experienced team with all their players back. I'll be the first to admit there's plenty of room for growth at this stage. Some of the commentary I read before I quit just felt like unnecessary hand-wringing. I'm not sure what those folks expected at this point in the season to be so despondent about an opening game performance. It's fair to say they aren't a finished product by a long stretch. I'm just glad they got the W while they are learning to play together.

Watched a replay of Georgia/Oregon in the Vegas Hall of Fame Classic. Looked like a COVID game...maybe 100 people in the stands and zero crowd noise. Why on earth do high level recruits play for such crappy fanbases?

We can disagree, but I think Cupps was THE momentum changer in the 2nd half. MVP isn't always about stats on the sheet.

I voted for Cupps just to piss people off. Cupps was a real disruptor on defense and that was exactly what IU needed to slow down the attack from behind the arc.

Pat Chambers teams will always make it a rock fight. Galloway looked great. Absolutely love, love, love Gabe Cupps. If everyone defends like he does, opponents make a lot less three pointers. Only real negative I saw for him is throwing it away under pressure at the end of the game. Not the best IU effort, but always great to get a tough win early while producing a lot of teachable film. This team will get better as they get more familiar with each other. For all you glass-half-empty posters, would you rather be a Michigan State fan right now?

Not impressive from the line either. Tyson Walker and Coen Carr were the only players that looked good tonight and Walker wasn't very efficient...just a lot of volume.

That's him. Looked him up and he played 3 seasons for UNC Greensboro, mostly starting in years 2 & 3 averaging about 5 points. Was an example of a head coach offering someone he'd never seen play in person. Didn't end well.

That reminds me of the kid Crean offered from Florida that never made it to campus. Name escapes me.

I don't know if it was the same play or even Banks, but I noticed this on a made 3 in the 2nd half. Way too much over-helping on the ball led to an open 3. Overall, pretty good effort for an exhibition, but yeah...I noticed that one in the highlights as well.
