Braden Smith vs Luke Brown...whos better...who would you like to see in an IU uniform, if either.

Smith is a sophomore, while Brown is a senior aged junior. Smith plays a 4A schedule, and started as a freshman last year. Both kids are unreal shooters and gifted passers.

The difference for me is the defensive end...smith is very polished with more room to grow. Very quick laterally. Long arms for a 5’10 kid. That’s why CAM is interested, a scoring point guard who can guard people at a higher level. He’s likely to be 6’2-6’3 when he’s college aged.

Smith for me if I’m picking one. Coach SS how did his visit go today? Was coach Sumpter (his HS coach) with him?

Just a general question about 21 recruiting efforts. I realize we are way out from commits and plenty can change. Can someone summarize where we are with Furst, Kaufman, Lander? Which one do you think we have best chance of landing? I'm asking here so I didn't have to ask in each individual thread. Thanks!

People seem to have different thoughts and opinions on all of them. Here’s my worthless one...

I want em all. Is that realistic? Maybe, maybe not. How would it help long term? We may get 0 to 3 of these guys. I want a recruiting class that will fit in well with who will already be there. 2 or 3 of these guys are likely day 1 starters. Will that hurt players that are already there? Or help them get better? As a coach I’d want my players to be challenged.

here is MY ideal in-state only class of 21, based on what I’ve seen, not rankings...don’t have enough info to know of out of state players. You can agree, disagree, call me fat, whatever. Just my 1.7 cents

    Kaufmann (a 3-4 position)

    Wesley (potential scoring/combo guard)

    P. Thomas (or an athlete of similar talent)

a hidden gem...Etchison? Someone else who may pop up?  A tough nosed ball stopper who’s a great practice player for 1-2 years, then leads as an upperclassman.

5-10 and can dunk like that..pass like that..wow...has Indiana been in contact..consider me blown away too

We play Hamilton Heights every year. He just lost his father in a farming accident a couple weeks ago. Tragic. His dad was tony Etchison from noblesville in the early 90’s I believe. Gus can literally dunk it any way you want. It’s stupid good!

I wouldn’t be shocked to see us watch him this year and next spring/summer.

  4. My job as a college coach would be to put my program in the best position to win. That’s what I’m paid to do. That’s my job. Not advance people to the NBA. That’s on them. 60 people get drafted a year. Plus some undrafted free agents.

Provide a work environment where one can improve their own stock.
