Keep it coming. Sounds like he and his dad like IU and Coach Woodson?
Being a ninth grader and playing against seniors, that’s a pretty big ask. Good for him.
From the conversations Ive had with his dad and him, they really like Woodson and the staff. Have connections with IU with his older brother going there. Jalen said he was ganna take it slow which his reasonable.

Sorry about the late response, watched his game against HSE. Came out a bit timid, sat with his dad and he said that he never saw him that nervous. Kinda odd. played pretty good for a freshman. Probably had around 15. game went into double OT and Fishers won. Ive only watched one game and some highlights, bit I really like this kid. Plays PG rn but as a 6'6 freshman will probably end up as a 3 or 4 in college. Can stretch the floor and is uber athletic. Def someone to keep a eye on in the next couple years. Personally think the kid has a super high ceiling.

Going to watch him play this Friday at HSE, I'll come back after and give some thoughts. His dad actually works with my dad and his older brother already goes to IU. Little connection there, from what his dad has told mine, he's gonna blow up with the amount of schools that are interested.

Gatta stop Davidson and Davis, can't let their shooters get hot early and have to make a big comeback like Syracuse. If we can run Davidson and Davis off the three point line and make them beat us with post play. I like our chances.

One big thing I take away from this game is that we beat a Nebraska team that I think is very good, McGowens is a stud and I think Koby Webster is solid. All around really good. And we won with TJD only scoring 14. Last year in a B10 game if Trayce only scores 14 we lose by 15+. Love this team. Think Leal needs more minuets and wouldn't be opposed to Tamar starting at some point in the season. He brings energy that I feel like we could use at the beginning of games. Just my opinion.

Assembly was rolling last night, got there about an hour and a half early like I typically do, went to the student section, was already half full. Thankfully found some seats in row 10

Was in class on Wednesday and kid sitting next to me went to Center Grove and was pretty close friends with Caden. Started asking about him and he said he's going to OSU according to what Caden told this guy.

With football not going the way we thought it would, focus around campus has definitely shifted to basketball, hell even the professors talk about basketball. A lot of students have already decided to stop going to games even before the OSU game.

He never scored 47 points in a game. 47 points was his season total. He scored 5 against Herron. New Pal is in my schools conference and we played them this summer too. I know New Pal quite well. I also know why he didn't play JV but I'm not getting into that.
What school New Pal is in my old schools confrence?

It appears IU is working Montverde hard
With alums like R.J. Barrett, Scottie Barnes, Cade Cunningham and Jalen Duran, absolutely have no issues with it. The prep kids want to go pro as fast as possible and playing for a former NBA coach like Woodson has to be tempting for these kids.

The student section will be rolling at maximum capacity

Took an unofficial to IU yesterday, plays at Bloomington North and plays for Indiana Elite. Unranked for class of 2023 but has offers from IUPUI, Bradley, NIU, Miami OH, ISU, Akron, Stetson and Umass based off his Instagram. No offer from us but could be something to keep an eye on. 6'6 PF.

I have personally never seen Smith play. How does he match up against high level D1 kids when they play each other? I understand some of your frustration.
When Nic Moore was at Warsaw, I never saw him get outplayed. I always felt like he was the best player on the floor. Better than Deshaun Thomas or any of the North Central kids he played against at state.. I was in the house when he dropped 50 on one of Painters kids, while Painter was present. It blew my mind that Purdue never offered
I've watched him play a couple of times. Great shooter and I would say his court vision is some of the best I've seen from a HS guard and I've watched Darius Garland, Andre Curbelo and many others. The only knock I have against him is his emotions. He came and played my HS and we are defiantly not a basketball school and we beat them by a fair share. He played pretty bad that game and when they got down he got very angry and it didn't help his cause. I think he will be a great player wherever he goes he is just going need time.

I watched him when he played against my school this year. Elite passing ability and can score whenever he wants. He only had 12 against my school but he and 6 other players fouled out because the refs called 51 total fouls. He has an offer from Indian Wesleyan.
