I think if we had XJ... Miller could play primarily the 4, pretty easily. Sure we lost some interior D... but we could make up for it by getting more possessions on the other end that end in 3s.

Well, that happened... and supposedly, Ballard didn't want Wentz to begin with.. he wanted to get a QB that year.

I would trade Matt Ryan, Nick Foles, Boiler Sam, and Irsay for Wentz.

No I don't either. I will say... I feel like when we were healthy and playing better defense, he benefited from some transition 3s, we seem to not be getting many of those.

You can't extend to 24ft when you are in the corner. In general, you want to see him a little more aggressive offensively, I can buy that. I think teams do a nice job on him/without XJ it isn't nearly as difficult to guard Miller.

I don't understand the exercise of comparing rankings from 4-5 years ago with what is happening in present day. It's not good data to use. NW is 12-3 with their losses coming to Auburn by 1pt, Pitt, and Ohio St. Pretty solid resume. The bold isn't reality. It's what you want it to be, but that isn't the truth of it.

I have posted multiple times that officials did a good job in certain games. I think bigger pay... and spending a day a week watching film would help. I think the conferences need to stop waiting on the NCAA to do anything, though. The conferences need to much more of force in helping these guys... what are they paid per game/what do they generally make per year? To me... I see no reason they aren't just salaried employees of the conference making 100-120K a year. They should be offered health insurance, and travel expenses should be taken care of. They have so many dumb/useless positions at these universities and conferences, but can't hire officials full time. Crazy to me.

This is so true. I guess you can call me a Kopp apologist... but had we stayed healthy. He was going to be as "valuable" as any of them. Some nights Bates/TG could take some of his mins, but with JHS, XJ, and TJD on the court... you pair them with Kopp.

Truly.. this is what I wanted. But I understood and respected why Woodson didn't do that. I also expected TG to play better.

This is exactly why XJ was so important. I don't think even I grasped how much he truly did for us. I don't blame this team for past mistakes by admin, coaches, and players. This is a good basketball team and when healthy, could be damn good. We weren't going to be able to withstand an injury to JHS or XJ. Period. The bold is just a crazy statement to me. That is actually how you feel? The recruiting under Archie sucked. As did the player development. We are still feeling the ramifications of that. You've admitted how long we've sucked, so... it certainly wasn't going to be fixed quickly... especially when our starting PG and another starter is out. We are no worse than 12-3 with those two. Probably more like 13-2.

Certainly, I couldn't agree more. ... my only complaint would be roster makeup. But, he was going to have to ask someone or multiple someones to leave to fix that, and I wasn't convinced I wanted that either. I am now.

It's also NOT been 20 years of that, either. Crean won 2 B1G Titles outright and we were damn good those two years, plus Watfords JR year (ya know, when we beat UK) that team was a top 10-12 team, as well. 3 of 5 years we were REALLY good, but no one cared because few liked Crean... so no one wanted to enjoy those times. Or they just wanted to bitch about his mannerisms. Or they wanted to bitch about the over sign.... or insert another useless complaint. If it's "been 20 years" it's actually been more like... 30 years or even 35 years.

I don't understand what that means. As in, we should be better than NW without 2 of our starters? We aren't. And more importantly, we played poorly. We are not better than NW without 2 of our top 4 players. It's not that hard to admit.
