  1. IU in final 3 for Miller Kopp

Northwestern 6-foot-7 transfer Miller Kopp is focused on three main schools and is close to a decision on where he will next play college basketball, he tells Peegs.com.

Kopp is looking at Indiana, Utah and Oregon State.

“Throughout this whole process, I’ve had probably 20 or so schools that have reached out and recruited me. I’ve kind of trimmed my list to Oregon State, Utah and Indiana,” Kopp said. “Those are the schools that are super serious about me and vice versa.”

Someone on btown banners said he and Kenya now follow each other

Hmmm. Stalked it to find that is true about the Twitter following.

It seemed he was leaning to OSU, but they are full now up front. If IU somehow lands him I guess we traded Brunk  for him. LSU, FSU, and Pitt seem to be getting the most traction from what I have seen.

I'm surprised your comment hasn't generated any discussion.  I haven't seen anything mentioning any IU involvement and it's definitely bordering on wishful thinking but...

He was scheduled to make a commitment announcement 4 days ago and then abruptly cancelled his press conference.  None of the experts seem to know why or have a sense of where he might be heading.  Throw in the TJD tweet (Are we done?  Nope), and timing of the Bates commitment - maybe it's a possibility.  I would think whoever they are trying to add would be a Big.

Seems like an LSU lean, but the timing of everything does seem intriguing at least. This would be quite a quick and impressive recruiting job to swing this one.

    Liked this too...

“(Coach Woodson) just said that in terms of me personally that I fit his coaching philosophy and that’s just getting to it on both ends of the floor," said Bates. "Playing really good defense and then having a spaced, fast paced, ball screen setting offense. He wants to implement a lot of NBA stuff in our offense, and we are going to have to buy in to playing defense and that’s not a problem for me, I enjoy defense.”

“I’m excited to play for such a historic program when you are talking about people like coach Bobby Knight and as much as they have won. I’m just trying to go there and add to what they have there now because they have some really good players. The goal is to bring Indiana basketball back to where it was and I’m going to go in with that same mentality to carry it on.”

Yea I really like this young man and his addition to the program.
