Been closed for a while...My uncle was the boiler room boss there for years...

I actually put it on my dream sheet (places I wanted to be stationed) coming out of tech school...the advisor (Msgt)  looks at me (Airman) and says, "you're an ATCer and they don't have an operational airfield...good fit, dummy." :)

You wanted to be stationed in Rantoul?  I guess when I met my wife it was already closed. My wife's uncle Bobby used to work on base as a civilian contractor.

Pretty similar just different sauces. Both are good though if deep dish is your thing.

I'm a fan of most styles. They each have their own unique qualities.

First time I went to Chicago I picked Lous because I was walking by. In 2008 I didn't have today's internet access in my pocket.

Funny story though, to me anyway. My wife is from a town about 20 minutes north of Danville, IL. They swear by Monicals thin crust. First time we all went out I asked for ranch. They looked at me funny.  Pizza and salad came I'm the only using ranch and they're dousing everything in this French looking dressing.  I dip my pizza in ranch like I always do and they went quiet and other people are looking at me funny. With a mouthful I'm like What?

I was informed you dip Monicals pizza in their dressing.  Since then I alternate between sweet and tart and ranch because I like to be different.

Three things we get when we visit my in laws, Monicals pizza, a bottle of Monicals sweet and tart, and Gross' Burgers double mozz from Westville.

Post got a bit long winded.

    TL:DR

    I like food.

I hadn't even heard of the movie...But now I gotta see it...Remember the Von Erichs well...

And I love the movie "The Wrestler" with Micky Rourke...

I've had a thing for Marissa Tomei since My Cousin Vinny. Even with that Jersey accent.

    Oh I did...

My wife bought them for me...My favorite is always pepperoni...Her favorite (from Lou's) is the Italian Beef with Giardiniera peppers...

So I got 1 pepperoni and 2 Italian Beef with Giardiniera :)

Her world, I just revolve around it ;)

    Italian beef pizza?

I have bought their frozen ones before and will likely go that way more often. Only problem is you have to add your own ingredients if you want to customize. My wife likes mushrooms on her half :panic:

My only requirement is every pizza has to have onions. I love mushrooms though. Luckily my wife and I are on the same page with ingredients.

I'm with you. Since my Dad moved into an assisted living facility most of his meals are provided...but come holiday time we always take him 2 things. Lou's and White Castles....but I'm not doing the shipping thing again.

It's cheaper for me to go to the store here in Indy. Buy the frozen pizzas just before we hit road and take them that way. $77 for 2 pies is a bit much using the delivery option.

I only do delivery on Lous for a bday or holidays.  By the time I get to Indy and get Lous I've been to a dozen other places and I'm out way more than delivery.

There is a grocery store in Bloomington called Fresh Thyme that sells Gino's frozen pizza. I prefer Lous but that's a good backup.

  7. Watched a couple good ones today.

The Covenant about a soldier who goes back to Afghanistan to save his interpreter and family.

Only the Brave about The Granite Mountain Hotshot wildfire fighters.

    There is a crying warning.

I'm going to play PS4 now and kick some ass in the octagon, then maybe run some guns and drugs and chase ladies of the night in GTA5.

I don't recommend watching both in the same day.

  8. When I was in college I had a really sweet job traveling the country teaching method 9 EPA emissions classes. I was too young to wake up an pee in the middle of the night.

But being a small town kid I did have some new experiences.  I ran in to hookers and my boss offered to buy me a prostitute in Little Rock. Spent a couple weekends in the French Quarter.  Was the only white guy at a birthday party for a gay guy.

Avalanche announcer drinks partners tobacco spit by mistake.

Not the same but when I was in college I swallowed a dip with a sip of Captain Morgan. A couple months later my truck wouldn't start and I unknowingly dumped a coke can full of dip spit on my battery post.

Wintergreen smells and spiced rum still make me gag or puke.

Need some travel advice. What are the best caves to visit in Indiana, or nearby? Mammoth Cave is really all I know, but perhaps there's something just as nice that won't draw the same crowds. It'd be just my wife and I, and we're in no way spelunkers, so a guided tour or walkable trail is desired. Anyone have experiences they'd recommend?

Bluespring Caverns outside of Bedford does guided boat tours.

    There is also Marengo Cave.

  11. As I get older I've two things are absolute.  I can't eat Pizza Hut ever.  Don't know what is is but I'll be shittin through a screen door in an hour or two.

It doesn't make sense to me, I like spicy food, eat a load of jalapeño and habanero peppers, love many varieties of hot sauces.

Put jalapeños on any Papa Johns Pizza and I'll be on the toilet in the middle of the night. WTF?  I hate my colon.

The year I was in Greenland, you had 3 months in the winter where it was dark all of the time, and 3 months in the summer where it was light all the time...

I'd come back to my dorm after a day shift and take a nap... Wake up, look at the clock, and if it said 4, the first question was, "ok, which one?"

You ever watch Sgt. Bilko with Steve Martin?  Never knew we had a presence in Greenland but for that movie.
