I swear I would go to a restaurant that just served Thanksgiving leftovers year round. Our family has about 5 Thanksgivings with Stepfamilies, Divorces, Family that doesn't get along,etc....I know we've got about 4 more days of leftovers floating around in the kitchen.

I figure the first fresh food we'll make is Wednesday.

Me too. My mom and dad divorced in 89'

I grew up with 4 Christmas and 4 Thanksgivings.

My dad got lucky and married a Wessel who's dad ran Ruxers horse farm. The guy that founded Jasper Engines

Visited Vermont for the Thanksgiving holiday. Not enough snow for skiing, but didn't have any trouble finding some Heady Topper. Even found a pretty good cheese called Cheddy Topper. Also had a Fiddlehead IPA that was a real delight.

I try not to drink anymore but heard good things about heady topper.  I'm hoping to take a train from Indy to Burlington in the next year or 2.

I'm more interested in the cheese though. I love all forms of cheese except for the kinds that smell like feet.

Ok gang. I try not to get serious on here much but this is my one serious PSA. I know here in Indy IU North or Franciscan have these $59 Lung/Heart/Aorta Scans....and for the women on here they have Mammogram scans for the cheap.

For the 2nd time in less than 4 weeks that dang C word has cut a fellow Hoosier's life short. Go get checked or screened. I know it can be nervous about maybe finding something but better to get early.

I'll second this although I don't have experience with Indy hospitals.

My dad died from a heart attack at 45.

A few years ago I was taking a nap. Had a coronary artery spasm that woke me up. Felt like someone punched me in the heart. Scared the crap out of me.

I still have bad habits from time to time but have mostly cleaned up my lifestyle.

Scottsburg girls played a girl 6 quarters against Brownstown. What was a 5pt win for Scottsburg in OT, turns into a forfeit loss.

Not sure how you make that mistake as a coach.

2 quarters JV and 4 Varsity?

I remember when playing football we had low numbers and had to drop jv because of quarters.

My senior year there were only 23 of us, at a 3A school.

My wife picked the brand but yep, it’s a midrange ~$500ish outdoor pizza oven.  It’s like a table top.

We’ve found dough > all else.  We use King 00 Flour (or something like that) which all of the internet raves about.  It made a HUGE difference over any other dough we’ve used.

I've found that Flour makes a big difference.

It took awhile but I found White Lily is best for biscuits.

And semolina is best for pasta.

    Great revival!

Just cranked this puppy out. Still figuring out the exact dough combination but it’s killer

    What did you use?

I've been shopping for outdoor pizza ovens.

    Looks great!

  7. Bringing this back from the dead. My pizza options are limited.  Ordered a BBQ chicken pizza from Papa John's and added jalapeños.  It was pretty dang good.

Every pizza should have onions no exception, and most should have jalapeños.

I like papa johns because I like Shaq. One of my all time favorite NBA players.  Larry Bird #1 of course. They say don't meet your "heroes" but Larry was pretty cool when I met him

Talk about living in the past. He left IU in 2002 and has been dead since 2009. I understand people like to play the blame game, but blaming Myles Brand 21 years after the fact is a bit of a stretch. You can blame administration, but let's blame those in charge the last 20 years. IU either needs to leave the BIG or start throwing some dough at the football program. And that needs to start tomorrow. Not Monday, not next week. Tomorrow. Pay Allen off and get a real program builder and some one to light a fire under the program. Otherwise, what's really the point?

I don't really consider it living in the past. I was making a comparison to UW and the decisions they made that led to consistent success and IUs decisions over a similar time frame.

Like @Seeking6said, we have a president now that understands the value of successful sports programs so hopefully that translates on the field/floor.

Everything changed for UW when Alvarez was brought in to be the head coach and not the AD

That is true but they kept the success going when they made him AD.

IU totally whiffed on Deboer.  It should have been obvious he was the reason for 2019 and 2020. He's got UW undefeated and probably in the playoffs and Penix a Heisman candidate.

I looked at his record and it wasn't great until the last two years at Oregon St

True. But Oregon State is a tough place to have success and he took over a team that won 7 games the 3 years before him.

I just want and hope MSU continues to suck.

I know we haven't but we should be as good as NW or Maryland. Growing up UW and NW was the laughing stock of the big ten in both football and basketball. There is no reason IU can't do the same thing those programs did to turn their program around

I don't know about NW but Wisconsin got Barry Alvarez as AD because they had a president that understood the value of successful programs. Wisconsin damn near got RMK back in the late 60s.

We had Myles Brand.  We all know what happened with him. We need our Barry Alvarez.
