My mom and dad divorced when I was 4. Both remarried in 1989. After 16 years of 4 Thanksgivings and 4 Christmas' then meeting my wife in 2006 and adding 2 more I was thoroughly burned out. Although with grandparents passing and parents and cousins becoming grandparents themselves it's slowed down. We will rotate family events throughout the year but Thanksgiving we typically keep for ourselves. We make our own food, whatever we want and eat whenever it's done or when we feel like it. It's all about the food, watching Planes Trains and Automobiles then Christmas Vacation.

@IUFLA I smoked a turkey one year. It turned out great but just didn't have the Thanksgiving feel for us. I also smoke whole chickens throughout the year. Applewood is also my choice for poultry. For turkey I've tried it all. Deep fry, baked, smoked. I settled on electric roaster because it has 3 advantages. Less mess than deep fry, I pour a can of chicken broth in the pan so it not only bastes itself but I get the drippings for the gravy.

For real though, my wife and I stay home. I make the turkey in the electric roaster (best method imho), mashed potatoes, dressing, candied sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, and cranberry sauce. Wife shares in the cooking duties. Last few years though we've either taken leftovers or taken it over and had dinner with an older couple that is one of my wife's clients. They don't have any kids so they like the company.

Very budget friendly.

Dammit, Singletary hasn't done a thing all year and produced in back to back games. Ugghhh. I knew I should gave started him.

Anyone else watching this UCONN game? They're good for sure but whatever diety they worship is putting the ball in the basket for them.

UCONN does look pretty darn good. I don't think losing to them is embarrassing. ESPN should quit sucking their balks though.

If I'm a CEO I pay people to provide input, have fresh ideas, do support roles to help the organization be successful. I think it's great Woody took a suggestion and went with it.

I would expect anyone who played high level varsity basketball to have experience with 2-3 zone. It really isn't that difficult. The hardest position is the guy in the middle on the baseline. Has to keep moving to avoid a lane violation. That's how I was taught anyway. Probably the easiest defense to wing it.

I think Clingan form UCONN should be required to wear Spock ears.

I went with Banks but it was coin toss between him and Malik. He had some rebounds late that were key and he caught that pass in the corner and had the presence of mind to give it up that led to the busted ally oop and 2 FT by Ware. IIRC that gave us a 5 pt lead.

Same here. I'll scroll through post game but I find myself getting distracted if I'm in the game thread. I did comment yesterday because I was sick of ESPN and their Dan Hurley UCONN worship. When they went split screen I felt the need to vent. I guess they're the new duke.

It was game 4 against defending national champions. Someone has to stay positive and keep the spirit alive.

That 89 IU class was the best there will ever be. I don't think anyone can put a team like that together.
