  1. This game has me nervous and unsettled. If I'm Penn St. or any future opposing team,......I'm feeling pretty good because I've got plenty of film to focus on and exploit IU's subpar areas of play to date.

    - The first and #1 thing I want to see going into Happy Valley Saturday night, is -  OL improvements/upgrade.......I hope to see meaningful and impactful improvements. For example, better, longer (on man) blocking for both Penix and the run game. You better believe State is gonna bring a lot of pressure to get Penix uncomfortable and out of the pocket. If this area of the game is not focused on and emphasized to the max,..........it could quickly lead to Tuttle behind center.

    - The second thing I want to see is a mixture of some sort of hurry up or quick snap plays so the opposing defense is on it's heels and guessing.......

    - The last thing I want to see more of is that constant, relentless and smothering defense that stops the run, the deep ball and pressures the QB. This all leads the ultimate goal.......turnovers and pick 6's.

    Go IU!

I don't miss the false start/illegal shift penalties we'd get as a result of everyone trying to move too fast. WKU got one last night when they tried to snap the ball before our defense was set and I laughed because that's what it reminded me of.

That can be fixed with good coaching and buy in. I think CTA and Co. have earned that to some degree. The only thing that I am still a bit suspect on the Hiller and Sheridan to even be able to manage a hurry up…..

  3. One thing I miss about Wilson’s play calling is the hurry up offense. Im not saying that should be the case the entire game, but we need a little of that to keep teams guessing. I know I’m not the only one on here wishing we had a little of that. I mean, good grief,…..our defense was gassed.

I thought we would beat them harder but they don't suck. Their QB followed their 1st year Offensive Coordinator to WKU. So a low learning curve. WKU will get a bowl game this year.

I knew WKU was going to put up a fight and make us earn every point! I never one time thought this game would be a blowout.
So we win by 2…..on the road and in front of their largest crowd in years. Not only did we win by 2 little points, but we never gave up the lead. Sure I’d love to see a lopsided road win over WKU and the likes, but we still won. Penix, including the O-line, RB’s and receivers needed this performance badly! On the flip side, the defense did too. They didn’t look the greatest, but held on. They now have something to look at vs. future hurry up offenses. Heck, Iowa gets by Colorado St. by only 10. At the end of the day, those small teams are hungry too and “a dog still has to eat!”

If we were competitive at Iowa I think we are still in the top 25. Losing that game the way we did is why.

    Totally agree!

…..Had we won that game Saturday,….even by a point, we are back in the polls at least #22ish. I’ve been off this site for several days for obvious reasons. I can’t stand reading all the negative posts of quick trigger, downward spiral, lost season mentalities.
Look….. Too many missed opportunities to both dominate and win the game going away! If all these things were eliminated Saturday, we win big and IU looks looks different.

    1. Penix - 3 careless game changing turnovers during drives

    2. Questionable Ejection of McFadden when defense was dominating.

    3. IU quickly scores on a dominant drive, then Cincinnati Special Teams kick off return for TD.

    4. Late goal line fumble by Baldwin.

    5. Confidence level…..?

If some think people are overreacting on here you should go over to rivals.  You will get a good laugh because those people are morons.  They are all over coach Allen and saying he is not the long term solution.  They are saying he is more of a cheerleader than an on game coach and he always gets outcoached.

That’s what crazy, delusional IU fans do on Rivals. This is what I want to tell them…….and some of us on here at times 😆

  7. Sitting in my car after the game….. something that sticks out big to me is Penix’s “type of picks”…. Each of those three turnovers by #9 were when he was in the pocket too long. He needs to scramble more under duress! The O line has not measured up to this point!!!! In my opinion Penix and the O-line is on watch… JMHO

This is so great to hear, but I guess I don't understand that student seating process. Are students camping out because there are not assigned seats in for students in the student section?  Since I have season tickets and a parking pass, my big stress is making sure I arrive early enough have a good parking spot to tailgate.

Love this pic!!!! What an awesome opportunity for every single player on that field, with dreams of playing college football, to play and showcase their talents in front of CTA and Co. I’m sure most, if not all, Bloomington South/North football players would be honored to play at IU and CTA if given the opportunity. While watching his future recruits play, CTA has the opportunity to see other, less know player's that strike his attention. Even if he doesn’t see them playing at IU, most “honorable” coaches look out for fellow coaches for players too.
