And when anyone says “it’s a done deal” wait until you see a press conference.”

Exactly!!......When Chris007 and IUwins0708 were saying that about Brad,.... all they were doing was relaying what their sources GAVE THEM PERMISSION to do.

Things can always turn a different direction at the blink on an eye. Those guys who have OBVIOUS and CREDIBLE IU connections have not lost one ounce of my trust and support. This is a two way business....

In hind site,....from now on, a proclaimed, “done deal” should only be worth it’s weight when Dolson publicly says so.
The point I’m getting at is this,.....It appeared to be a “done deal” between BOTH parties until a statement was released (I paraphrase), something similar to...“It’s up to Brad now”......That’s where it all went south and the Boston got involved....

CJ Gunn reminds me, frame-wise, of one of my all-tume favorite Hoosiers: Greg Graham.  Long, rangy, tall for a guard.  I echo the above.  This guy will be a load as a Jr/Sr at IU.

Archie’s get old, stay old will grow in power as the roster grows and gets stronger further down the bench.

One area of growth from previous coach to now: depth.  The end our bench no longer has Grant Gelons.

.....I agree with you, but he reminds more of a Jay Edwards body and talent. His high school nickname was “Silk”.
Man I loved watching that guy play. Jay was blessed with so much talent, unfortunately he just wanted to do things on his terms and not Coach Knight’s.

While I was attending IU in the late 80’s.....he and Lyndon Jones always seemed to show up at some of the parties I frequented. Probably because one of my best friends at the time was also good friends with the both of them. They all graduated Marion High School together...

    Those were some fun times!

Why? He basically only shoots 3s.

We need a dangerous "Gun Slinger", a "Cold Blooded Assassin" that can be counted on. A 3 pt. specialist that opposing team dread facing. I do like the sound of Matt Cross in an IU uniform because it reminds me of former 3 pt. "Gun Slinger", Matt Roth. He was smooth.....

I heard Rodger’s contract is pretty hefty, can’t leave the Packers next year if he wanted too since it runs through 2023

I don't know anything about player's contracts and what they can and can't do. I'm trying to wrap my simple mind around a veteran player like Rogers. He knows he has plenty of gas in the tank, but not much time left to get to the Super Bowl. He is obviously thinking, "Which team has the best tools with potentially the quickest, most efficient trip to a Super Bowl?" The Colts have to be one of the top teams that check all the boxes. Even though his contract says he is owed a certain amount of money, maybe Rogers would take less if he felt strongly enough about a team? I know I may be way off, but just thinking out loud.

The B1G coach of the year will be announced Thursday.  If anyone not named Tom Allen wins it, the conference might as well just come right out and say they don't like us.

That has to be a runaway, landslide vote.....

  6. I’m ok with the Pacers loosing these early, pre-season games etc. I can tell the difference the “new” Nate is trying establish....fast pace, scoring outside by droves. This will take a bit, and have to endure turn overs and growing pains, but I like this new concept. Vic will have to keep up, get better or move over.

How did the Colts lose to Jacksonville.  That loss continues to haunt.

I think the Jets truly threw that game yesterday. LV 3rd and 10 from midfield and with 10 sec left and they bring the house. They were up 4. I just dont get that call other than we need Trevor Lawrence

Roger that,....we all know that's a pipe dream. We would have to "put the car up on blocks, sell the wheels and pull the transmission" to pry him from the Jets.....😁

I don’t think he’s a dark horse if he is one of the 3 finalists as J Michael believes.

I realize that...maybe I worded not incorrectly...I mean, a guy with zero coaching experience seems like a long shot, but not really. If the higher ups are going to listen to their player’s opinion on this, he may be the one...The more it soaks in, the more I like it...

  9.  Me too Rico,.....Me too! Reggie set the bar for being a model NBA player in a small market, mid west team like the Pacers. He loved and represented our state and Pacers so well,... you would have never thought he was from California and attended UCLA. He was more about winning and getting the Pacers respected among the league's best. Social media and money have become like a "Whispering Satan" on the shoulders of many of today's elite players.

Well at least we know now.  Plenty of time to shop.

Just like Billingsly said earlier.....I feel the same way. Until I have heard it from his mouth or directly from the Pacer's organization, it will be a misconstrued rumor. The damning thing is Victor is not coming out and squashing the rumor.

  11. (The Pacers might be a good future destination for Romeo. He might blossom back home in Indiana like Oladipo, and brings a large Indiana fanbase with him.)

I was surfing around on another IU message board and came across this post from someone. This is one of those posts that make you go...."Hummm?"

I don't know about others, but this really did make me think of Vic and how he never really shined at OKC until he got to the Pacers.... Granted Romeo IMO, is not as "tough, hard nosed and versatile as Vic, but suited up in a Pacer's uniform could definitely bring a number of  new elements to both Romeo's game and the Pacer's organization alone.... I don't thing Stevens would want to part with him, but you never know... You have to admit, it would be awesome seeing Romeo finally play to his potential AND for the Pacers would be pretty sweet.....

Its not really too far fetched you know?

Jordy was never a PG. I played against him probably 10 times and watched him play 50 times before he got to IU. He was NEVER a PG. Dee Davis was the PG in HShttps://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/dee-davis-1.html , Yogi, Verdell, and even Victor were much more PGs than Jordy.

AAU.. Colt Ryan was his PG. https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/colt-ryan-1.html

Man, Btown.....you rubbed elbows with one of the few true hometown IU studs.....can I get your autograph???😉 Jus funnin’....🤩

I wish Dan would have just stayed at West Virginia...

As much as he “disses” Coach Miller, the team and Coach Knight,.....why is he still on the air? I know there are fans that love listening to guys like Dan. I have a family member who acts just like him. I can’t stand his “I don’t care who’s toes I step on” attitude! When he is on 1070 The Fan, I turn the channel.

I agree DG is not our best player but he is probably our best offensive weapon when he is going right.

IMHO this team is missing 2 consistent, 3 pt shooters. Shooters like Iowa's Wiescamp, Purdue's Stefaovic etc. When teams are consistently beating us, they're beating us with legitimate and consistent 3 pt. shooters. We have one three point shooter who is either ON or OFF,.....zero consistency from anyone on IU's roster. We are so transparent and easy to scout.....fill the lanes, pack inside and make us shoot 3's. We have often struggled getting the ball inside against the zone but when the ball does go inside we can't capitalize like most other good shooting teams. When our bigs do get the ball inside they often struggle to score. This leads me to our lack of good 3 pt shooters.

In the Michigan game, IU had consistency with Davis inside, a career game for him, but Davis could have scored numbers like Iowa's Garcia and IU still loses to Michigan.

Where are the A.J. Guytons, Pat Grahams, Jordan Hulls, Matt Roths, Kyle Hornsbys, Brian Evans and Dane Fifes? When those players were on the floor, EVERY team we played knew they were going to score points for IU,....the only thing opposing teams could do was try to find a way to slow them down. If Archie is looking for those type of players, I think Anthony Leal will fit that mold.......we just need more like him.

I will take sacrificing some February wins if it helps us win a first round series.  I know that home court helps to win that first round but right now it's all about chemistry.  Without Vic we wont get past 1st round but with that group working together I could see a conference finals appearance

Same.....Even after his injury, Vic is still too valuable and too talented for Pacers  Brass to make rash decisions......and they won’t. It’s the building chatter from fans that are frustrating me. Team chemistry, dynamics and individual player abilities are all on the coaching staff now.
