Cupps is 2 years away from being impactful. Galloway tries but that means nothing with this team. Reneau fouling out and not playing much was fine. Let him rest and not get hurt. Gunn best player in the country when it doesn’t matter… Kinda sad Ware and Mgbako good luck in the NBA. Banks must really be bad if he doesn’t get minutes. Then again why keep him last offseason if he’s really bad. Could have been 2 scholarships for guards. Leal is what he is. Sparks…. Ya i don’t know… Yupp let me know if I’m missing anything.

Ya this game is something. If OSU posted up Cupps the whole time with the guards they would be up like 10. I think running our offense with Galloway at Point is our best offense so far.

I saw a tweet that says X isn’t expected to play. The guys are going to need the hard hats strapped on.

As I said…. It’s not like he has a vision going forward. From this week on… It’s all question marks.

This game seems like that “get right” game for OSU… Could I see us getting blown out? Yes. Could I see IU winning? Yes… I will say if IU loses both games this week in blow out fashion I think the season will spiral out of control.

If not Thornton will torch us

Winning cures everything. We need wins. IU needs to somehow win like 4/5 games the rest of the year. Need to stay afloat with some of our own players and players who might be entering the portal on other teams. IU can’t afford to lose Reneau. If he stays in college IU can’t afford to lose Mgbako. Like we saw in football this year the shadiness that takes place behind the scenes. If we keep losing/go on a long losing streak the remainder of the year you know other teams will see blood in the water and find ways to contact Reneau or Mgbako. If IU loses both of them Woodson absolutely can’t be kept around. If IU loses both Reneau and Mgbako what chip does IU have that could attract players to come here. McNeely is only 1 guy and a Freshman and Galloway isn’t a “superstar” by any means but he’s a solid player but that means nothing.

Is it concerning a lot of the recruits Woodson have brought in have been bust. Good: Reneau JHS Mgbako Bad: Banks Bates (never developed) Duncomb( Kept him when he didn’t have too) Gunn Unknown: Cupps Newton This Class: McNeely I know the portal is now huge roll of recruitment…. But laying down a floor with your own guys… He’s really just 50-50…. You could argue outside his highly ranked guys he’s been mehhhh… I understand most of that is developing players but you could argue outside 1 recruit-ish per a recruiting class he really hasn’t brought in guys who are ready. Now Cupps is an unknown because we know he’s not ready this year but then again we don’t know what kind of player he would be under woody. I don’t want to put Newton under any category but he’s going to comeback hopefully next year after a long layoff. I don’t see him ready for the game speed until 15 games into the season next year. At the same time you pray for a guy who won’t be derailed by injuries. I don’t want to say recruiting has dried up but it’s alarming in small sample the production from his foundation of recruits.

If IU wants to win they need to try something different on defense. Whatever they are doing hasn’t worked all year. I would try some zone just to change something up. The zone might not work but atleast it’s different. I think IU Guards may see some full court pressure from this point on.

Did Woodson atleast go out and recruit after yesterday’s game? Early game..,, Should have had time to go out…. If my team got embarrassed like that and “basically” get eliminated from NCAA Tourney Contention I would be working hard for next year to make sure we don’t miss again.

I think if IU wins only 2 more games Woodson should be fired no matter what. You can’t be under .500 with the caliber of players you recruited. I don’t know if iu can even win 2 games if they continue to do the same gameplan.

Im not a Doyle guy or a Indy Star guy but they seemed to have turned against Woody now. They usually seem like the last line of defense of “protecting the coach with positive narratives.”

I’m guessing Woodson is sticking around for next season so the real question is… How can he keep us afloat next year to pass the torch off in a better spot than Archie.

The last 2 games showed me that Cupps might not be ready next year to contribute on a good team. Galloway is limited in scoring but he’s the only one working hard on defense. Ware needs to demand the ball. Be more assertive. Last thing when Iu goes up 10 in the first half don’t make 4 subs. Keep the foot on the throttle.

Over under 2.5 more wins this season.
