  1. Smith plays against some of the best competition in the state every game, he is a better athlete, faster, and he has better handles. They are both good shooters. But what really sets Smith apart is his court vision. He makes passes that blow your mind. That is something that Brown has too, but Smith is elite seeing the floor, and in my opinion you have to have something elite to get serious high major attention. To be sure Smith doesn't have any real offers yet and the gap isn't really that wide, but those are the factors that I believe set him apart and why he will ultimately be a more coveted recruit.
  2. Indiana had a zoom meeting today with Gunn according to Nick Baumgart. Hear him talk about IU and much more. https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/listen-iu-basketball-2022-in-state-recruiting-target-c-j-gunn-on-the-hoosier-experience-podcast/
  3. Things I noticed on Saturday - he talks constantly in a good way, he helps the opponents up off the floor, he will go and clean up sweat off the floor. He is just 100 percent engaged in every aspect. From a basketball standpoint his court vision is off the charts.
  4. It was one of the more competitive AAU games that I have watched recently, especially for tipping at around 9 AM. Both teams were playing some defense and making hustle plays. Fun little IU related tidbit -- No. 22 on the Indiana Elite team is Stu Robinson's son. Talked to Stu and his son yesterday. Amir Robinson is just an incoming sophomore but he is built like a Big Ten linebacker. Stu and Mike Roberts were on Knight's staff together at Texas Tech, so that recruitment, if it evolves, will be handled between those two.
  5. Here are highlights from the Smith / Gibbs-Lawhorn matchup yesterday at Westfield too. https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/video-watch-braden-smith-2022-and-dra-gibbs-lawhorn-2023-go-head-to-head/
  6. To my surprise I couldn't find a thread for Gibbs-Lawhorn. Feel free to merge if I missed it. In my opinion the No. 1 PG in-state in 2023, probably by a wide margin. Talked to him yesterday: https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/iu-basketball-recruiting-2023-guard-dra-gibbs-lawhorn-talks-freshman-season-and-recruiting/ More background here. Same high school as Rob Phinisee, teammates with his brother Joe Phinisee. https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/iu-basketball-recruiting-class-of-2023-names-to-know-in-state-guard-dravyn-gibbs-lawhorn/
  7. You are thinking of Indiana Elite. Sounds very similar, but Trey, Anthony, Khristian, Rob all came from IE. TJD came from IH.
  8. Saw this kid play on Saturday. IU is in contact. Should be one of if not the best in-state 2022 SG. https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/iu-basketball-recruiting-class-of-2022-names-to-know-c-j-gunn/
  9. IU offered this evening. https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/iu-basketball-recruiting-class-of-2022-names-to-know-a-j-casey/
  10. Here is the latest with class of 2022 Westfield H.S. point guard Braden Smith. https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/iu-basketball-recruiting-hoosiers-in-regular-contact-with-in-state-2022-point-guard-braden-smith/
  11. Eight of the nine former IU players in the league will be part of the action when play resumes in Orlando. https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/hoosiers-in-the-nba-eight-of-nine-former-iu-basketball-stars-will-participate-in-leagues-july-return/
  12. I know Mohammed has the higher rating, but I would agree that if you want the highest ceiling and the most versatility, Wesley is the best guard on the 2021 board.
  13. As AAU circuits cancel, Archie Miller says IU basketball “in pretty good situation” with class of 2021. https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/as-aau-circuits-cancel-archie-miller-says-iu-basketball-in-pretty-good-situation-with-class-of-2021/?fbclid=IwAR3aR9qZYeismH_Eia09TD99rb1B4lSxXws_-WNBuABEM7XVqAKRSovCn7s

  15. ICYMI, our Q&A with Jordan Geronimo on Friday discussing what he has been doing that last two months, what he is hearing about arriving in Bloomington, his hopes for his freshman year, and much more. https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/iu-basketball-qa-with-jordan-geronimo-as-he-waits-for-green-light-to-come-to-bloomington/
  16. Indiana pretty involved with another versatile 2022 big man. Archie making the calls here. https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/iu-basketball-recruiting-class-of-2022-names-to-know-kyle-filipowski/
  17. IU is legit. So is Purdue. I think both schools would be very concerned if/when Notre Dame offers.
  18. IU working hard on one of the best sophomore defensive linemen in the country. https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/iu-football-recruiting-2022-top-200-de-joe-strickland-impressed-with-iu-as-recruitment-expands/
  19. Thanks man. Your sense of humor takes this site up a notch!
  20. Attempted to comprehensively assess where things are. I really like the way this class is shaping up. https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/iu-basketball-recruiting-hoosiers-2021-class-shaping-up-to-be-a-very-strong-one/
  21. Junior season highlights for Duncomb https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/iu-basketball-recruiting-2021-commit-logan-duncomb-junior-season-highlights/
  22. Two Indianapolis point guards (Tayshawn Comer - Cathedral and Leland Walker - North Central) are on the radar. D'Ante Davis (F - Lawrence Central) is another Indianapolis kid that has been down to Bloomington. Have a decent working list here. https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/first-look-indianas-class-of-2020-and-2021-prospects/
  23. I obtained his sophomore stats today in this updated version if you are interested. His sophomore highlights are here as well. https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/iu-basketball-recruiting-hoosiers-offer-class-of-2022-top-50-center-shawn-phillips/
