“Indiana being the program that it is, the school that it is, with all the tradition, I wanted to go somewhere where they would help me take my game to the next level"

So is this your full time job? If not do you hope it becomes your full time job?
Does 16 hours a day count as a full-time job? Yes, by far and away it is full-time for me. Way, way to full according to the wife.

Mike...do you get the feeling your job is going to be much much busier under Woody and company? Seems he casts a much bigger net (and nationally). I just want to say...I think we are on the verge of monumental change in the program and something close to getting back to it's popularity. I hope you are ready for the wave of attention I think that will come your way. Your one of a few that gives great content and info and I think you will see a big benefit when this program really takes off! Good luck!
Sure seems that way, especially with the portal and also football and several other sports peaking.

Who do you think our best chances of getting are?
I don't feel like there are any slam dunks but several where IU is a legit contender. We'll put out a hot board at some point here soon where we rank the likelihood.

Do you like our chances?
Any time you get 1 of 5 officials it means you are legit. That being said, I am going to believe Virginia is the most likely destination until he says otherwise.

Just wondering if his recruitment kinda ended like Smith's with the new staff coming in?? There was a time when those two were 1-2. Seems our PG focus has been mostly out of state. Any ideas Mike @The Daily Hoosier
They are still talking to him. He told me that a couple weeks ago. But I don't get the sense that he is a top priority at this point.

Yeah. Do you know who he has visits scheduled with already. I know Ohio St has been on him heavy....seems like Dane is the lead recruiter here and has ties with him from MSU since all the others have moved on in the coaching change. I know his recruitment is going to heat up but to get a visit that has to say a lot!
Ohio State, Syracuse, Iowa, UConn.

To me this is big news. I'd say without a visit we had 0 chance of landing this stud...at least we are in the game now...getting a kid to Bloomington and visit the school...hard to not come away impressed.
It is also significant in that IU was pretty late in the game here. The other schools he is visiting have been on him for a long time. He clearly sees something he likes.

Todd Yeagley:"Our family, they told me to get the College Cup and they’ll come over. You talk about some pressure to get there.”Even in the first family of Indiana soccer, the expectations are high, and with a record 21st appearance at soccer's Final Four, those expectations have been met.And after a year like no other, this College Cup appearance is rewarding and special.

Some background on Jaden Schutt. Dane Fife was recruiting him while with MSU and has carried that over to IU.

It sounds like the twins are willing to play at different schools? Do you have a sense that they’d like to play together in college or prefer to be apart? I’m reminded of the Lopez twins. They both played at Stanford.
My sense was that to this point their recruitments have been on different levels, but probably something I should have asked him. Maybe next time.

Welcome Mike Stump, but... he couldn't comb his hair or shave for an official IU promotional picture?
Kentucky grad. Kidding of course. He is a highly respected guy.
