Never underestimate the pettiness of an intoxicated redneck with a supposed “cause”.
I used to tell my friends in Georgia ‘the South does not have a monopoly on Rednecks’

You're underestimating Purdue's willingness to be petty.
Uhmmm you have no idea about the pettiness of the Alabama-Auburn rivalry. Remember the guy poisoning the Toomer’s Corner trees?

I doubt those two would be willing to come off the bench. I wish we could convince Payne to come here and come off the bench and the hen start the following year
Let’s get after it and tamper with Xavier Booker and convince him a year at IU can get him to the NBA like Kelel!😁

Heck I’m greedy, I want a front court player that can put Malik on the bench!😁

Mine left a lot of sticks and leaves behind last time, and I'm looking for a new one...know anybody?
Yeah but I wouldn’t recommend them and they’re in Michigan!

How come we’re not seeing anything about players like Somto Cyril or Brandon Garrison? There are plenty of minutes to be had at the 4-5.
How about Jevon Porter???

I’m more worried right now about getting a solid backup for Ballo than the empty 13 seat! After all he only averaged 26 minutes per game last year and heaven forbid he gets injured it’ll be like last season!😫 The minutes are there go get them coaches!

We always played to win in our church league
I always played on the church team where your team switched to their left hands.

And just like a Purdue championship run, this thread has derailed.
What is this thread about again? Oh wait the portal! My bad!

Crap, let’s not get the Purdont/Wisky/Duke conversation going. Next thing we’ll have a Dorky poster on here.

I’ve had a set of parents floating by with 7, the last week.
I just noticed that there’s only 3.
I’m hoping that’s it’s a different family….So another park here has a couple ponds with about a dozen geese. Curiously no hatchlings? I’m thinking this guy might have something to do with it.😫

May is off to a good start, and will have Michigan in the hunt again.
Hopefully he helps change the BIG culture from the Wisconsin/Purdue model!!!

Never know how injuries will play out or how all the newcomers will do.
Everyone on this board likely wished we had another guard on this team last season instead of an empty seat.
Does anyone wish we had Grant Gelon on the team last year?

we don't need to to keep an open scholarship. pick up a sleeper to take a shot on if nothing else.
There will be some high level pickups when they realize they are not currently NBA material.

Have you noticed there is always a "With that boing said" disclaimer on all these announcements?
Never noticed ‘boing’ before?

Cam played before NIL and before the rules regarding agents were relaxed. Relaxed rules = a lot more grey area.
I'm not saying it DOESN'T happen. I'm saying the need for guys that know all the below the surface networks aren't nearly as important.
Yes and what I’m saying is programs/coaches with well established runners still have advantages when it comes to those grey areas.

Who's to say it doesn't?
I know you are a high level thinker, think about it. The Cam Newton stuff still goes on and it is most definitely not above table.
“Cam Newton was declared ineligible twice — Nov. 10, 2010, and Nov. 30, 2010, — but was reinstated in time for Auburn’s next game in each case. The NCAA determined Rogers tried to act as Newton’s athletic scholarship agent, but Newton was reinstated each time because he had no knowledge of any pay-for-play scheme.” -

Easy as pie to build that in to an NIL payment. "I want 50K in this account, 25K in this account and the balance in this account." Done. And it's not like these transactions are going to be audited with a fine tooth comb.
Once again, what you propose doesn’t happen with above the table NIL. The slime is still there.

You really think that "network" is not longer important? 🤣
Have to emphatically agree on this point! Said it a couple times, Yes athletes are getting paid with NIL. However, family members, handlers, AAU coaches and promoters are not NIL recipients! THEY STILL HAVE THEIR HANDS OUT!!!!

I just hope we don’t get to September and hear coach saying he needs the Sophomores to step up!! Look where it got CJ, Banks and IU last year! Time to get out from under the porch and run with the big dogs!
