Of the guys ranked in the 16-25 range (Tucker is ranked 20th) from last years 247 composite, only 1 played more than 60% of his teams minutes. You can think whatever you want, but outside the top 10 or so guys, it’s very common for freshman to come off the bench as 20ish minutes per game type of players.

He’ll get minutes, but I sure hope we’re not relying on him to start unless he has a college ready game - which most freshman don’t.

Maybe I caught too much second hand smoke from my neighbor when we were talking.

Contrary to popular belief, there are a lot of top 20-30 recruits that do not start or play starter minutes. There were only 19 high major freshman who played more than 60% of their teams minutes. About half of those weren’t top 20-30 guys, but instead were guys on bad teams.

I would say I want what you’re smoking thinking he’s coming to IU with the thought he’ll be on the bench but my neighbor works at a grow house and said she would hook me up if I ever wanted.

This probably should go in a different thread but I'm not sure which one. The term "shooter" has come up a lot in this thread though so I'll post here. What are folks thinking with statements like "he's not a shooter" or "we need shooters"?

Are folks wanting/expecting someone like Hulls where the player has one job and that is to knock down 3's at a +40% with defense, rebounding, driving the ball, etc. being optional?

    or

Are folks wanting/expecting someone like Mark Sears that shoots +50% from the field +40% from 3, +80% from the line and can also kill you off the dribble, play D and rebound?

    or

Are folks wanting/expecting something in between?

I'm not making a case one way or the other for what "shooter" should mean here, I'm just trying to understand what other's are wanting/expecting.

IU needs players that can make defenses scramble whether closing out on a shooter, getting beat on drives or having to double down low. Last year all we had was forcing teams to double.

The food was awesome. Funny thing was my first meal there was KFC at midnight. After traveling for a day we said we were hungry and that is what they picked up, lol.

Had 4 braiis. Grilled fish, steak, lamb, etc was all great. Had some Biltong, springbok carpoccio, poikie and some other stuff. Didn't try the bobotie. The fish and especially the calamari were really good. The cool thing is food is really cheap there due to the strength of the $. Had Chateaubriand (which was excellent!) for like $20.

Housing is also cheap due to so many people leaving the country. If it wasn't half way around the world and had reliable utilities and medical care, it would be a great place to retire.

Sounds awesome! Remember going to KFC in Russia and they had beer on tap!

The wineries were awesome. Stopped at 6 wineries. Did 4 tastings. Brought home 4 bottles. Groot Constantia is the oldest in the country dating back to the 1600s. Napoleon drank their wine! Some of these wineries were incredible. Never been to Napa Valley but might have to check it out for a comparison now.

So what about the food? Did you have any Bildong on your hikes? How about BOBOTIE or bunny chow? When I’ve traveled before I always wanted to have some of the local cuisine. Well except for England maybe?🤔

I'd love a vacation to Mobile. Drinking beer while playing in the water sounds fun. I'd also recommend waders if you are going to be in the water awhile. Never been there. Unfortunately I don't think that trip will be in the cards for awhile.

I’d add down south if you’re spending much time in the water you might want someone riding shotgun looking out for alligators!😂

I had a pissed off customer company VP from Germany call bitching and moaning today because I didn’t give him his demanded report of how to fix their problem, by today (he initially demanded by “Friday”).
he wasn’t amused when I said, … “ you didn’t say which Friday”.

fyi, they are experiencing the EXACT issues I told them they would, when they decided to use our standard equipment “off label” in a totally stooopid custom designed automation process. I told them not to eff around… now they are in the find out phase.
    I’ll help them out… Friday.

    ‘The Ladder of Knowledge’

Guy I used to work with and I had a couple of code phrases that were less than complimentary and yet we could use them with the person in question. One was they were climbing the ladder of knowledge. Which in our definition was the further up someone climbed the less they knew about what was happening on the floor! The other was ‘that was heads up!’ Which in our definition meant they had their head up where the sun don’t shine!
