  1. I just wanna say that these message boards are public, and are looked at by players and their parents  more than we know. I know in the case of Franklin, his mother is very engaged in social media, and has even done some outstanding interviews on some podcasts. He seems like a good kid from a solid family, and if he goes to Illinois, does that make him a “traitor?” I am not necessarily referring to any previous posts, but also the things I am seeing on IUBB Twitter page. These are young men, and none of the   “Tough guys” that played for RMK had to deal with people going on Twitter or Instagram and criticizing everything they do. For instance, I saw a lot of outrageous stuff said about RP, and we wondered why he froze up when shooting? Parents see that, too, and if the perception is that we have a jaded fanbase that will turn on these kids, ( and I know it’s most if not all schools) why wouldn’t they encourage their kids to try something new? None of these players came to IU with the imagination of boos raining down on them on their last game of the year. I would love to see Franklin back, but he needs to do what’s best for him, and IU will move on.

  2. Larry Brown? Are we going to go after Al Mcguire,  or Rollie Massimino next? Maybe Denny Crum or Digger Phelps? I kid, and I mean no to disrespect to those who have passed. Just the first thing that came to mind. I remember how RMK used to hve older coaching buddies like Iba around. I pulled for Archie to succeed, but I am really pulling for CMW. He may be able to show that there is still a little gas in the tank

  3. Disappointed, but there had to have been a lot going on behind the scenes. Sounds like our AD did his diligence and swung hard for the fences, which is what we needed past AD’s to do. Still... a lot of things don’t add up. Maybe BS just doesn’t care about IU, otherwise, it’s hard to understand how he would be able to turn it down. Now, we get to watch guys in a Tom Brady jersey talk smack about how much BS sucks and they’ll eventually run him out if there anyway.

Beard is next on my wish list, and his buyout is “only” 2.5 million, and he happens to be in town.

  4. Been going crazy looking at inferior sites. Don’t know if 0708 is the same on B’town Banners, but he put out something wonderful. I like it better here.

What leads me to believe something big is going down is the story of the two donors (Cuban? Mellencamp?) ponying up large sums of money not only to buy Archie out, but to pay for the next coach. That, and the fact that Beilein is a darn good coach and he’s readily available and we didn’t just get him.

Thirdly, although BS told the Boston radio guys he wasn’t coming, a few hours later before the Jazz game, he gave a really shaky interview and even spoke about Boston in the past tense.

Not to mention that DD says 60% chance! (j/k)

i think this thing has some legitimacy, and that is exciting

While I’m not a proponent of the Point Forward, made famous by Jeremy Hollowell, one of the greatest weaknesses of our team this past season was when teams would pack the paint, and dare us to shoot. It was very effective in some blowout losses, as I recall. Having a big that can pull his defender out a little and stick a j opens the offense a little and makes it less congested inside. As much as I hate them, Wisconsin has used this time and again, and we must think that is something they had in mind when recruiting Logan.

ps.  After my post, I remembered what damage Jaden Smith did to us, hitting 3’s left and right. We had no answer and lost by 1 point in a game that winning would have made a huge difference

    Jalen not Jaden lol
