Not sure what you mean about "super staff knew about this zone"?

Every team knows about the zone, yet Boeheim is one of the most successful coaches in college history.

The coaching staff isn't why Stewart, Phinisee and Bates are missing completely wide open 3's. They're not why Race missed two point blank layups, or Stewart and Geronimo have thrown completely boneheaded passes.

Sorry, but to me the team looks Intimidated and a little scared. JG especially. Wasn’t really knocking the staff, just that this is what we all knew they would be facing this, and this is the best they can do?

  2. We now know why Penix was playing when he wasn’t 100%, and maybe never fully recovered from last year’s injuries. (Or the year before, and so on) The defense showed that we were built to win games now, but the QB play this season has been very poor. I think our WR corps would be much better if they were not forced to run 5 yard crossing routes all game, or “high point” the ball all the time. Carr is a tough runner, but just not as good as Scott. This is a team with good bones, but problems at OL, QB, and RB has doomed the season. That- and the McFadden ejection. The turnaround is going to take a step back this year, but I still believe. I think?

  3. I was lukewarm on the idea of Woodson when he was hired. TJD coming back, the eye opening commitment of Tamar Bates, and assembling a top-notch coaching staff has changed my point of view. As I move toward being older (47), I have to hope that us older guys know more than people realize, and can still get it done. I was also thinking that maybe Woodson’s early recruiting success could be an effect of having the power  of fully united group of IU alumni/ex players/ coaches, not to mention 30+ years of NBA credibility behind you. The momentum will be hard to stop, at least until we hit the court.

  4. Random thoughts although related more to this thread than any:

    1) is it possible that Armaan was an Archie loyalist? To me it’s very telling that none of the players showed any remorse or regret that he was fired. Maybe Armaan liked coach Miller and bought into the packline?

    2) Does anyone else think that we need a legit big man, maybe from the portal? TJD is not a 5, and Kofi and a few others gave him fits. Offensively, he held his own, but it would be nice for Brunk/Duncomb and maybe someone else to spell TJD on the defensive end...

    3) Confused by all the Brooks speculation. He has not even entered the portal, or has he?
