  1. They've got the combination of prospects and young players to pull off the trade if they want to
  2. That's because they waited to long because Bob C got in the way and wouldn't let the front office make the trades when the players value was at it's highest. It's also a different person in charge of the baseball ops department now so I don't know what kind of returns he would be looking for.
  3. We'll see what they look like whenever the season starts. I think they'll have a mixture of productive vets and young players they want in the big leagues to build around moving forward. Krall was an employee of the A's in the early Billy Beane moneyball days so it's probably the format he's most comfortable with and he doesn't like the bad contracts that Dick Williams dished out that are still on their books. Miley got lucky this year and teams no it. All of the analytical numbers say that was the case plus you can't count on him past August. Barnhart I think was the organization doing what he wanted and not the best return. He didn't want to get traded far from Indy and that limited the market.
  4. It’s game 1. Let’s see if he’s still sitting in a few games.
  5. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a floor around $100M in the new CBA. That wouldn't affect the Reds since there salary has been around $120 and $130 million the last 3 or 4 years. They just have some bad contracts and don't want to go over that amount so fans like calling them cheap because they won't spend more. Teams like the Pirates and Orioles that have salaries around $60 and $70 million is ridiculous.
  6. Not saying it'll be successful but it probably is their best chance to have some level of sustained success since they aren't ever going to be big spenders. They do have some good long term pieces on their roster but they still have some holes to fill. If they could get a couple of pieces for Castillo for example then fill the others with free agents this team could be better next year even with losing Castellanos, Miley, and others.
  7. I think I know what Nick Krall and the Reds are doing. They are trying to implement more of an Oakland A's and Tampa Bay type of system in their roster construction and that's why they are listening to offers for Castillo and probably Gray. I think they'll be trying to sign some players like Garcia to replace Castellanos. Get similar production at a lesser value and better defensively. Time will tell if they are successful.
  8. Probably saw Rabby’s pictures of the lines and decided to delete it lol
  9. Yeah thought the same thing when I saw the lines. It’s also possible a lot of people just waited until they got there to purchase tickets rather than getting them ahead of time.
  10. Reds tried to trade him and cut him because there wasn’t a market. Good luck to Miley but he’s very unlikely to repeat what he did this year.
  11. He entered the year behind and with limited experience. He has a limited route tree which makes him only available for certain plays. I think they wanted to bring him along slow this year like they did Patmon last year. Keep him on the roster but inactive and develop him but with the poor start and all the injuries the decided to start throwing him out their some last night.
  12. Yeah Mo is to stiff. He has a limited route tree and good on certain plays but he is limited although he is good at his role.
  13. I don't know if Patmon is or not. Maybe he is or maybe he's a 3 or 4 but he looked good in the pre season prior to his injury and he played a lot of snaps last night in his first game back he just didn't get but one target and he got it. I just want to see if he or Strachan can develop and be a real weapon since they are both big and have good speed.
  14. IU has offered 2022 DL Jayson Jenkins from New Jersey. He is listed at 6'6 250 and is a really big individual on film. https://247sports.com/player/jayson-jenkins-46127855/
  15. Was just watching an exhibition game from a couple days ago and it was being reffed by Bo Boraski and let me tell ya. He's already in B1G regular season form
  16. The Colts O-line the last few weeks has been much better. Fisher has been good against the run all year. Nelson, Kelly, Reed, Smith, and Pryor have all been really good as well. Glowinski hasn't been as good either but he's still been solid enough and is a good back up guard.
  17. Here's my take on the Colts: 1. Wentz has been really good and not a problem for this team contrary to some peoples hot takes. 2. The pass defense is atrocious. The secondary is a train wreck and they don't cover long enough for the pass rush to get home. Part of that is scheme and part is personnel at the CB position especially. 3. The Colts need to keep playing Patmon and Strachan to see if they can develop into a #2 next to Pittman. Patmon got several snaps last night and had a target and a catch in his first game back. 4. Reich needs to keep being creative and using Hines and Taylor together. Playing Hines as a receiver more last night was a nice adjustment. 5. I'd look to keep getting Granson a target or two at least each game to try and keep developing him as a receiving option moving forward.
  18. Yeah that position is really bad outside of a couple guys
  19. I’m glad the Colts defense has turned into a pumpkin in the 2nd half
  20. I could see him putting up similar numbers to Castellanos at GABP on a cheaper deal. He might not be the exact production but it could be a very good value.
