  1. Miley should not be let go. If he’s not on the roster in 2022 the Reds should pick up the offer and then trade him. Barnhart I think they could get clever there with an extension too but they might opt to move on. I have mixed feelings on him.
  2. That's also a consideration that a lot of media and people who cover baseball hasn't talked about enough. The new CBA could cause a strike which could lead to some crazy contract situations depending on how long it takes to get a new agreement and if there is a salary cap and floor moving forward. 32 million is still a good chunk of change to collect over the next 2 years if you don't know how contracts will look going forward.
  3. If the Pacers acquired him they would have to surround him with shooters similar to the Lebron led Cavs and the Giannis led Bucks. This actually fits with Carlisle because he has shown he wants to space the floor with shooting. Simmons is an elite defender and finisher around the rim. Just not a shooter.
  4. I've said it a few times. It's not a lock that he opts out and it's also not a lock that he's not back with the Reds even if he does. He's not going to get crazy money like many people think. Probably 20-22 million per year. Maybe a tad bit more but not a lot and if he gets that much it'll likely be for 2 or 3 years.
  5. It probably should be. He doesn't have anymore visits unless he does go to Bama on the 23rd. There's not a lot of new info at the moment.
  6. Upcoming visits he has scheduled.
  7. IU isn't currently or really ever been recruiting him on a serious level.
  8. The question will be how long it takes before the asking price starts to drop. I'd have to think that the 76'ers will only want to deal with the distractions for so long before they decide to finally move him.
  9. If the Pacers make a serious push for Simmons it will be because Carlisle wants Simmons. I'm not sure if he'd want him or not.
  10. I know what the reports are saying. I don't think they are legit. Morey is the one likely leaking the info. What Pacers information that gets leaked involving trades or signings ever actually happens? Not very much if any.
  11. I don't know if I buy the Pacers and 76'ers rumors. The name that has supposedly been discussed is Levert.
  12. Barrero needs to be in the lineup at the start of the season everyday next year. Either at SS or CF. His inconsistency this year in the big leagues was due to a lack of consistent playing time.
  13. That's a good question. If the organization isn't sold on Barrero at SS then he could go to CF and Farmer at SS. If Barrero is at SS and there is a DH then play Farmer at 3B and Suarez/Moose or whoever be the DH.
  14. He'd dropped on the depth chart since he hadn't been able to hold onto the football.
  15. It's crazy to me that the Pacers kick off the preseason tomorrow in New York. Basketball season is almost here.
  16. I think he'll be the primary catcher going forward. That said I could see him playing first on his catching off days to keep his bat in the lineup. Especially if there is a DH and there's a worse defender who needs to hit. In a few years I could see him switching to first if necessary.
  17. Reds Off-season Checklist 1. Castellanos is retained 2. Make decisions on Barnhart and Miley 3. Try to resign Givens and Lorenzen 4. Acquire a real closer 5. Decide what position Barerro is going to play and plug him in the lineup 6. If Barrero plays SS then acquire a CF 7. Acquire a guy that mashes LHP 8. Figure out a way to clear Shogo's salary someplace else 9. Decide if Moose has a role 10. Figure out the rotation and if a shakeup is needed with the prospects about to crack the majors in 2022 A few other minor things could be done as well
  18. I feel much better about Castellanos coming back even if he opts out than I did about Bauer last year which turns out was a blessing they let him walk. I also think this group of players feel like there is unfinished business in 2022 and Joey Votto said so himself that the team needs to focus on winning 90 games in 2022 to make the playoffs. Here's a good article with some comments from Votto on 2021 and heading into 2022. https://www.cincinnati.com/story/sports/mlb/reds/2021/10/04/what-does-2022-hold-for-joey-votto-cincinnati-reds/5984785001/
  19. Who made that list because it's not the most accurate thing in the world? Nevermind. The kid I was looking for actually was on the list. Looks like @ricoand I both still need to wake up lol
  20. The Reds offense went to crap when Winker got hurt. They survived for a week or two after the injury because Naquin got hot then he cooled off and got hurt too. Then the offense struggled for a couple weeks and the starting pitching wasn't great for a couple of different reasons while at the same time the Cardinals lost their freaking minds. I really hate the freaking Cardinals
  21. Just finding ways to help out the Cardinals 🤮
  22. The only teams I will 100% say that are better than the Pacers in the East are the Nets and Bucks. Philadelphia might be but with the Simmons drama who knows. The Heat, Hawks, Pacers, Bulls, Knicks, and Celtics will make up the rest. I think the Pacers could be as high as 3 or 4 but I don't think they'll be as low as 8 or 9 so that's why I say 5 or 6. Not to mention they will be better coached than last year.
  23. They'll be better than that. I think they'll be around the 5 or 6 seed and could be higher depending on what they do at the deadline. They will be making moves at the deadline this year.
