  1. It’s not accurate. Clowney himself said he didn’t know Coach Ya prior to when IU first reached out. Clowney thought that his AAU coach knew him though.
  2. He didn’t have a prior relationship with Coach Ya. He’d never talked to him prior to the offer. That’s been a big misconception going around by some.
  3. The Reds just claimed Asdrubal Cabrera off waivers. He’s slashing .244/.324/,392/.716 in 90 games for the Diamondbacks. He’s also slashing .290/.356/.452/.807 verses LHP this year and the Reds are scheduled to face 6 LHPers over the next 12 games. He’s a third baseman at this point in his career which isn’t good news for Suarez but he’s been awful so it’s a smart move.
  4. The trade was the right decision the problem was Jocketty wasn’t good at acquiring young talent. The Reds are a million times better in that department now then they were then.
  5. They have in the games that have mattered since the all star break when the Reds had a chance to close the gap in the division. I should’ve clarified.
  6. The Brewers are better. I don’t like admitting it but they are. Votto even said the other day that this Brewers team has the best pitching staff he’s ever seen and they’ve had the Reds number this year. I just want the Reds to make the wild card and the Dodgers to overtake the Giants in that division.
  7. The bullpen has been much better the last couple of weeks since the trade acquisitions, Sims came back, and Santillan came back up. It just had a hiccup against a better Brewers team the other night.
  8. That whole scenario was unlikely in multiple ways but it was just a hypothetical
  9. Lottery pick??? He needs to show a ton of skill progression for that. He’s been lucky to be projected in the 1st round which has been rare at this point.
  10. The 28th is when he’s visiting. He just said a couple days ago he’s planning on taking all of his visits.
  11. It’s Barnhart calling the game. There are some things that come from the bench but not pitches unless it’s a pinch hitter. Those do sometimes come from the bench.
  12. The other problem with the bullpen last night wasn't the relievers. It was Barnhart. His pitch calling was stuff that I wouldn't call for a high school game and he was trying to do it against the freaking Brewers. It was awful.
  13. I called it before the inning started. I could see it coming because I've seen it way to many times especially with guys who typically throw the 8th or 9th inning and they are brought in earlier. The adrenaline crash is real and happens more times than not especially during the regular season.
  14. Lorenzen went to the mound in the 6th with his adrenaline pumping and got out of a tough spot. Then Lorenzen went to the dugout and cooled off. He shouldn't have started the inning. Then he started the 7th and wasn't locating as well and the Brewers took advantage. Then Givens came in and the Brewers had to momentum. It's a great theory to have guys end an inning and start another but typically the relievers stuff isn't as good after sitting in the bullpen.
  15. Also with Antone feeling something in his elbow last night it's likely he's done for the season. It will be interesting to see what the Reds do now. The names I'd look at are Greene, Lodolo, or Moreta from AAA if the Reds are serious about trying to at least squeak in as a wild card team.
  16. David Bell mismanaged the bullpen again. He allowed the Brewers to get to much momentum. The guy just can't get out of his own way sometimes.
  17. Not happening unless something changes which seems very unlikely. I’ll give JHS an A for effort though.
  18. That picture is of a shirt. Somebody has already been making them but I don’t know who.
  19. Their insiders seem pretty confident in their sources lol
  20. Wouldn’t buy into that. It came from an AAU coach associated with JHS’s team so the individual was rather biased in their opinion.
  21. Oh I know but he's a little farther behind Greene and Lodolo in terms of MLB ready but that could change by next year.
  22. Reds potential free agents include 1. Castellanos (Player Option 16 million for next year) 2. Lorenzen 3. Givens 4. Barnhart (Club Option 7.5 million for next year) 5. Doolittle 6. Feliz 7. Brach 8. Wilson (Player Option 2.3 million for next year) 9. Miley (Club Option 10 million for next year) Castellanos, Lorenzen, and Givens are the guys that need to be the focus and if that means cutting Barnhart to use that 7.5 million someplace else that's what I would probably do.
  23. My guess is one will start the season in AAA but they will both be in it by mid season. There is always the possibility of off season trades or cuts that could change the rotation as well.
  24. Lodolo will be just fine. His stuff is MLB ready. He’s had a few setbacks this year but he’ll be ready by next year.
  25. He and Lodolo should be in the rotation next year.
