  1. There’s going to be a new collective bargaining agreement this off-season. The universal DH, the 3 batter pitcher rule, getting rid of the shift, and a few other things are expected to be things that’ll get worked out then and used as bargaining chips for the two sides.
  2. The reality is the Reds will have some position depth within a week which also provides more quality pinch hit options late in games. The DH will be in the NL next year.
  3. Short sighted point of view but whatever floats your boat. Moose and Senzel with both play and a added benefits to the current roster over a guy like Freeman. Moose is playing 3rd and some second and Senzel is going to be a super utility guy when he gets back.
  4. Castellanos is tricky. He has a 4 year deal but and opt out which he’ll probably do since he’s having a great year. The Reds would have to give him a new deal. In the minors Jose Berrero a SS who is MLB ready now. The pitchers Hunter Green and Nick Lodolo who are both very close to MLB ready. All 3 are top 100 prospects.
  5. That was my point. They didn’t give up any meaningful prospects. Some fans think they should’ve acquired a closer or a bat at the deadline but I disagree.
  6. Unpopular opinion but the Reds made the right decision to not give up any top 20 prospects at the deadline for upgrades. They have Senzel, Moose, and Castellanos coming back soon. Sims coming back to help the bullpen by sometime in the next week. Anyone should be back in about 3 weeks. They weren’t going to have enough roster spots for everyone and none of the guys currently have options to AAA. A Bullpen of Sims, Lorenzen, Givens, Cessa, Hembree, Garrett, Hoffman, Wilson, and Brach/Doolittle depending on who gets DFA’d when Sims gets back and the other goes when Antone comes back is much improved compare to what the Reds have had most of the season.
  7. The Pacers had a good night. Duarte is ready to step in and contribute and they’ll need that since they are likely losing McDermott. Then they took a swing on upside and athleticism with Jackson which is something they need. Both guys were all defense in their conferences and everyone knows the Pacers needed to fix their defense and those picks are a start. Also for all the bashing that Duarte is getting it’s funny that he’s the player that most of the teams the Pacers had trade discussions with wanted to. So if there was that much interest around the league I think the Pacers made the right choice in picking him themselves.
  8. Johnson has the talent but the off court stuff is a problem that I wouldn’t touch.
  9. No because nobody is willing to give up a star to get him like Morey is wanting.
  10. Agree with this. But as for the talent around him if George Karlaftis can be a projected first round pick at Purdue than Curry could be at IU imo.
  11. He helped recruit and develop all of Ball States recent pitchers who have gotten drafted Jameson, Baker, McDermott, Nicolas and other very good pitchers. He also has a ton of connections in baseball but especially around the state.
  12. It’s a GREAT hire. Mercer couldn’t have done any better.
  13. It’s a little early for a 2024 kid. IU has a couple 2024 offers out already but that’s it.
  14. I’ve heard he’s not a high major kid. Other than that I know nothing about him.
  15. Yasir was the guy that got IU in the mix with Banks. All the coaches had some involvement in the recruitment though.
  16. ND also has 1 running back commit already so who knows what they are looking for in another back.
  17. I’ll never count out anyone until there is pen to paper. That said if he doesn’t end up at IU I’d prefer him leave the B1G altogether.
  18. He’s a late riser who Weaver said will be ranked soon.
  19. They’ll be able to find a replacement. There are some very good pitching coaches out there.
  20. Motor and effort are constant questions with Booker.
