So this is where our complaints go next season? I just want to make sure I post them in the correct thread and don’t get labeled some troll or a Debbie downer. Most forums have a complaints thread so I find it very strange we suddenly deleted it when this coach has done nothing on the court to show he has earned our full unbridled support.

We didn't just delete a complaint thread. And it gets frustrating that every time we do anything the tin foul hats come out.

We have no agenda as mods. Hell, we are as divided in our views as the general members are. So it would be pretty damn hard to be agenda driven.

We simplay had too many Woodson threads at the time. And new, non Woodson, threads were being hijacked.

We basically just tried to funnel the conversation more and keep the site streamlined. It's really that simple.

So, no, us over controlling moderators have not designated a specific location for Mike Woodson complaints for next freaking season.

    But thanks for asking.

And to be clear. The thread was not deleted. Threads were merged. Not posts were removed from the site.

Find it as weird as you want. Is what it is. And we are transparent in what we do.

It is money. This argument is moot. I don’t understand why you and others bring it up. Sure we pay our players. So does everyone else. In your scenario… pull money from Self and have him try to recruit now. Same results. Nobody. So stop saying “if donors were to pull money then….” Pull money from anyone and have the rest of the country recruit with it. You’re not getting anywhere. Stupid, silly argument.

To be fair, I am thinking some feel we would not have recruited well this off season if there was no NIL.

Whereas KU, UNC, Kansas etc would. Our strong NIL helped us.

Which I agree with. My point is "so what". I am glad for it.

It doesn't reflect on Woodson either way. What will matter is what we do on the court next season.

I am not sold on Woodson. I do, however, think some people's frustrations with him lead to a jaded view of everything. Even the positive.

Let's just all.hope we have a huge bounce back season.

If we do, we are all happy and it's all moot. If we struggle, I don't think there will be a divided fan base on what we feel should happen.

I personally hope he flat out crushes next season.  We shall see.

Agree. Woody has support from the people that matter…but I don’t think there is anything about him as a coach that suggests these kids would be tripping over themselves to play for him. I agree any other coach probably would have been left out to dry had they been in Woodys position with a poor showing of a season and no incoming recruits after striking out…he is fortunate he has the support of those that have the $$. They really bailed him out.

Isnt this true of 99% of the teams in this era? More this off season than ever.

As much as we have frustrations, we have yet to have a high impact guy transfer out. And players outwardly have voiced they love playing for him. X, Leal, Trayce, Ware....the list goes in.

Players very clearly want to, and enjoy playing for him. Players repeatedly say he deliver what he promises etc.

He has to win, 100%. But all these other "things" come off as message board assumptions not based on fact.

Money is part of the equation for players decision.....part.

NIL is here. We are elite there. But star players still have plenty of options to make big dollars elsewhere if they don't wanna play for Woodson.

It’s going to be awfully boring all summer if we go back to debating Woody. It’s well trodden at this point.  We all are counting on success this year.

My view is that the success in the portal is a huge feather in our cap and will be a huge boon to us with regard to attracting the next coach.  It’s all a win-win.

I am.gonna have to ask you to either sling some mud or exit this thread. Sorry.

Do you think Woodson deserves all the credit for these transfers when he isn't the one bankrolling them?  Big donors wanted to keep Woodson and they have bought him a team to try to make it work.

Whether Woodson gets praise or criticism this coming season will depend on how well he does with this roster compared to expectations.  The bar is most certainly raised on what constitutes acceptable results when we have amassed a good amount of talent.

So far Woodson has underachieved compared to the talent on his rosters.    I wonder how many 5 star level players we would need for Woodson to actually make a run in the tourney.

Not picking sides in the ridiculously worn out debate, but we were not that talented last year.

Counting "stars" doesn't tell the story. Mac was not ready for this level, he improved as the year went on and should be strong as a sophomore.

But we had nothing in terms of guards or shooting.

I blame him for poor roster management way more than judging his ability to coach. So yes, this year will be telling.

Anybody else tired of people continuing this back and forth tho? I think we all know where everybody stands on Mike Woodson at this point.   😂

I firmly beleive people overstate how talented we were last year as a whole unit.

Dolson said. "And at the end of the year last year, there was never a statement that was put out. Woody was never not coming back."

You can listen to the Hoosier Hysterics podcast and hear the full interview, but, contrary to popular belief, Mike Woodson's job was never in danger...

I dont think a portion of the fan base wanting to replace him meant people expected it.

I don't remember anybody saying they thought he was gone. If so, it was a very very small percentage.

I saw that over there. Those guys are (edited by blue) over there. I lurk once in awhile but won't really post things over there. They are still keeping up their fire Woodson thread and had like me 4 pages yesterday

Let's not resort to name calling. Different boards, different "culture".

Everybody can pick where they feel they fit, or participate at both.

    No reason for attacks.

My somewhat realistic hope? Big Ten Champs, E8 or better.

My pessimistic guess? 5th in B1G, lose in second round as a 6 seed. Woody gets extended.

I feel both of these are very possible outcomes. It is definitely a pivotal season.

I am not sure how many more disappointing "pivotal" seasons this fan base can take.

So we signed someone else?  Hemenway?  I don't know anything about this kid.  Any more info

Not signed. Recruiting. Transfer from Clemson, played HS ball in Indiana. 40% type 3% shooter with decent size.

There are a handful of posts about him in the recruiting/transfer forum.

Do we get another shooter or hold it

I don't think we need to be hunting shooters now. Goode and Mgbako are likely high % 3 point guys. Carlyle had strong stats regarding catch and shoot 3 point shots. Rice is respectable.

Imo, we need big man depth (that's what she said, I know).

I am onboard with what @btownqb described.

Solid athletic big that knows and play that role aggressively.
