Gonzaga, Michigan, and Baylor look like locks for #1 seeds.  Who’s the fourth #1 seed if not Illinois or OSU?

OSUs late slide is going to kill their chances at a number 1 unless they win the BTT.  I think Iowa is in a better spot for a number 1 seed but they would probably have to get the the BTT championship game for them to get one.

Right now the Pacers would be picking in the lottery if the season ended today. Levert is supposed to be back after the all star break and I think that will help the Pacers but if it takes much time for him to get acclimated then I'd start moving some expiring contracts and load up on draft capital for this years draft. With the Pacers 3 second round picks already they could probably move all of those already for a second first round pick at the end of the first if they wanted to and that's without selling off anything else.

Wish they would’ve traded Aaron Holiday a year or so ago when his stock was high.  I don’t see him being anything other than a rotational player at this point.  Pacers aren’t going to win the title when Sabonis is your best player.  I love him but the game has changed too much for a low post player to be your best.

I've seen him play several times...this is a fantastic comparison! May even be a slightly better shooter than McIntosh was at the time...

McIntosh wasn’t a good shooter in high school, he was a clutch shooter but percentage wise was below average.  What separated McIntosh was his court vision and leadership.  Those and plus he played with 4 other D-1 college athletes on his high school team.

Honestly he just needs to focus a lot more on taking it to the rim. When he does, he’s pretty difficult to defend. I can’t remember the last guy we had who could break a defense down like he can. Should really only shoot open 3’s right now IMO.

He’s a scorer not a shooter.  Similar to Vic.  Just seems to me he’s worried about his right now instead of what’s best for the team. 🤷🏼‍♂️

  5. Ivey did his best Devonte Green impersonation tonight.  Kid needs to stop reading and listening to how good he is and just play.  Ball needs to go to Trevion more.  Ivey has a chance to be a star but needs to realize he isn’t one yet.  Ivey can win and lose you games, he lost this one for them.

If Purdue is on top of the B1G next year then the B1G must be having a down year.  😃

Michigan will likely lead the B1G next season.

I was thinking about Michigan too.  How much of their success is a hold over from The culture Beilien created? Maybe I’m looking too deep into it, but I could see Howard not valuing culture like Beilien did.  Maybe he does but that will be something to watch in the next few years as JBs recruits start to move on.

I’ll be interested to see who has a bigger impact between Furst and Kaufman next year.

Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if neither has much impact at all.  They’ll both get minutes but who’s minutes from this year will they take other than Wheelers possibly?? Edey and Williams will both be better than Furst and Kaufman is going to be behind Gill, Ivey, Newman, to name a few.

I’ve loved the kid...and super happy for his success! Just fame can change a dude. Grass isn’t always greener...think he will regret not signing long term in Indy.

I loved him before he came to the pacers and during but not after.  He’s soured me they we he’s acted in the bubble and now this.

I do think Vic is getting closer to his old self but anyone that needs over 20 shots to score 20 points tells me he is not being efficient....he is filling up a box sheet with Houston but by in large they are pretty empty stats. He isn’t getting to the foul line and he isn’t shooting a great fg percent doesn’t shoot 3 well has poor assist to turnover ratio. Just not winning basketball imo....well winning basketball come playoffs.

He really laid it on thick in his interview after the game.  Said everyone keeps giving up on him and he just wants to prove them wrong.  Nobody in Indiana gave up on him, he gave up on the organization.  Sounds like Vic is nothing more than a drama king.

It's interesting to look at Painter's most successful runs, from 2007-2011 and 2015-2018.  Those happen to be some really down years for IU.  It's almost as if his success is predicated on IU sucking.  If we ever get back to a perennial power Painters best years will be behind him.

This is actually exactly right. I also think though that Painter finally figured out “his kind” of guys after striking out with some guys he thought he could develope.  Painter is top 3 in my book in the big ten as far as coaches go.  To be truthful though after the top 3 you have a lot of yet to be determined guys.

I don't know what to make of Jaden Ivey. Couldn't miss against us, followed that with a stinker against Penn St, and then hit a game winner against OSU.

If you saw his OSU post game, he went on a crying jag about wanting to win so bad...so what does he do?

Plays so poorly against Michigan Trevion Williams gets in his grill to straighten him out.

    1-6 (0-3 from 3 point range) with 2 turnovers.

He’s the type of player than can shoot you out of a game real quick.  He’s got tools but could see him turning into a Devonte Green falling in love with those 3s.
