Looks like the Pacers is sleep walking through the first quarter. They are are down 37-25 with 30 seconds to go in the first. The Mavs had 6 uncontested layups off of double teams.

Aaron Holidays minutes need to be declining.  Can’t shoot or defend.  Totally lost

I am not disagreeing with you at all, but just stating what some people on this board have said. Archie has got Indiana kids and now people are saying he isn't good enough.

I’ve never said he wasn’t good enough, I just said he doesn’t jump out at you when watching.  Not every recruit needs to be a star.  The right roles players are as important as your star.  Not saying Gunn is or isn’t going to be a star. I love getting Indiana kids, that’s what I’ve missed most over the past coaches tenure.

I watched a lot of the 2nd half...

I already had a huge amount of respect for Leonard Hamilton, but something the announcers mentioned increased it...

Said Hamilton vets recruits more thoroughly than most, and if they have a handler or someone "representing them" he drops the recruitment immediately...no one is going to interfere in his program...

    Kudos, Coach Hamilton...

    Good coach, better man.

Does anyone else feel that when watching the Nets play at home you are watching a black and white TV with the players being in color or is it just me?

Yes!! Then you had a team in white jerseys and other team in black jerseys didn’t help.

The Donkey was with Chuck Marlowe only...And if you ever watched the Bob Knight Show, Chuck could and did come under fire on occasion...

Game Face...He was ridiculing a member of the press who had asked the question...The laughter from other was because they were glad it wasn't them...

The bullwhip presser drew more criticism from the press corps, even the hypocritical ones that laughed during it...

You can try to wiggle all you want...Bob Knight's relationship with the press was anything but congenial or good natured all in fun ribbing. His sense of humor isn't the issue...you made it sound like he laughed with them...he was laughing AT them...

I have plenty of video footage to back me up on that...

I never said he laughed with them, show me where I said that.  Your definition of a sense of humor is obviously a lot different than mine.✌🏻

Ignore/mute buttons are for people who put out patently untrue statements like "Bob Knight cut up with the press" and then can't defend them from the truth. I'd never use that function.

You should look into it though...

How about these 3 for examples of Knight with the media

    1. The Donkey

    2. game face

    3. bull whip

He was an ass for sure but he had a sense of humor no doubt.

Untrue but you even said he cut up with Hammel and Marlow.  Can’t have it both ways, those guys were media members as well

I'm trying to remember but I feel like that story was maybe a regional or a bankers life event and then it was negated by someone saying they saw him signing a bunch.  May have caught him at a bad time or it could have been causing a disruption.

    Could’ve been, I hope so.

Jeez. I thought he just didn't have much personality/charisma. He seems to be an introvert. This and your other post make it seem like it goes deeper than that. There's nothing wrong with being an introvert, I'm one myself, but if you take a job that requires you to interact with people you need to do that. I intentionally went into a field that would allow me to not have to interact with large groups and the public. He chose to be a basketball coach and accepted a job at a major university with a large fan base. That requires interacting with more than just the players and coaching staff. He knew he'd have to do speeches and mingle with donors. He knew he'd have to interact with fans and that autographs and pictures would be expected. It sounds like he's doing about as good of job at those things as he is at putting a winning product on the floor.

Let us know if you find out which recruit that was. That can't have made a very good impression. Especially if it was only 4-5 kids he'd have to sign autographs for and not 100.

I’m never feeling sorry for a guy who gets paid the amount of money he does for coaching a kids game.  I can personally deal with him being less than outgoing to other adults, but to do that to kids is beyond ridiculous.  If the member will reveal I will gladly share.  I do know it’s an indiana kid but unsure of which one.

I have watched a little of his games on TV this year but probably not enough to totally evaluate his game.  The games I have seen he has been ok but did not dominate like I would hope a big ten player would do in high school.  I guess I have been spoiled seeing a bunch of top high school players who went to IU and other big ten schools who you could tell was a big time college player.  I saw Alford in high school and new he was going to be good.  I have went to the HOF tournament in New Castle for years and saw some very good players who went on to the big ten. Like Glen Robinson, Michael Lewis, Sherron Wilkerson, TJD, Kaufman and many more who I can't remember

I’ve thought the same thing.  He’s a good player but he doesn’t jump out at you when you watch.  At least for me he doesn’t. Again, very solid player just not what I was expecting.

  11. Another example that I was given from a member of this board which I just found out, and frankly the worst one I’ve heard, he turned down 4-5 kids at a high school game for an autograph.  Worst part is, one of the kids he turned down was a sibling of a kid he was there watching....😳😳.  I’m trying to find out which recruit it was/is.

I mean, it's kinda weird that a rich guy needs to work the crowd of rich guys but he's kinda like the hired help of the super rich guys.  Maybe he thinks, I don't need to kiss your a.  However, he needs to grow and this is an area he may need some growth.

Happens at every college. It’s part of the job at this level.
