Oompa-Loompa says.. "Go Hoosiers!"

I have to admit, I was really impressed with Purdue'a team. They play smart, disciplined basketball, can knock down shots and have a 7'4" center. Purdue has a team that could definitely make it to the 2nd round of the tournament this year.

Sorry to break it to you. We aren't. Early NIT bracket doesn't even have us in it.
Yeah. Sorry. I didn't realize how far IU has fallen. It's unbelievable.

What team do you root for thats going to the NIT?
I get what you're saying... it took me a second. I HOPE the Hoosiers get into the NIT, but we may not deserve it. Pathetic. 😐

I'm looking forward to the NIT and playing a 1st round game against Kentucky.

"You??! You'll be out before we get the check!" Just like Purdue in the postseason...

I didn’t get to watch. What did I miss?
You gained 2 hours of your life better spent. When the time comes and rest of us are on our deathbeds, cursing those two hours we all lost watching IU lose to Penn State, you will die in peace and contentment, knowing you spent your time on Earth well.

I won't blame the kids for this loss and I won't blame the coaches. I blame myself for not cheering them on nearly enough, especially in the 2nd half. Blah.

I honestly don't think any 18-22 year old kid is going to look at a 65 year old geezer and think to themselves "He's cool" Lol.

sorry, not trying to be combative, but has he proven he is really good at player development? i mean this is his 3rd year of college basketball. i refuse to agree with people who say he "developed" JHS in one year. he had to play him at PG with X out, so JHS did his thing. some say he developed TJD? i mean he was about the same player, but older and more experienced right? Galloway is pretty much the same. a little better every year i'd say. Reneau is getting a bigger role and more freedom with another year. i'm just not sure he has proven he is really good at player development. are we pointing to the NBA? i can't speak to that. haven't watched it in many many years. don't know what his role was as an NBA assistant and how developed those guys already were.
I understand what you're saying. I think Woodson is good at developing and teaching players or else he wouldn't have lasted as long as he did as a coach in the NBA and ultimately hired at IU. But I get your point. Did Tom Crean develop Victor Oladipo from an overlooked 3-star player to the number two pick in the NBA in just two years? Of course not. I just think that kids like playing for Woodson and trust him. They listen to him, knowing that he's done a few laps around the block. But I'm no sunshine pumper. I fully expect IU to lose the next 2 games. Ware will probably be out for a while. Johnson will probably go down again with an injury before the season is finished. It won't be pretty.

is he a teacher of the game?
Let me say that differently. Woodson has proven over his career as a coach, I think, that he is really good at player development. Players improve under his coaching. As a "teacher of the game" -- he's no Bobby Knight, but who is. Knight was the ultimate teacher and strategist. Like Lombardi was in football. IU deserves better than a mediocre basketball team that, at times, looks completely unprepared. It' unacceptable.

Woodson has done some very good things. I like Woodson, he is a teacher of the game. Recruiting has been good. The IU-Kentucky game is back. I like the kids playing for IU and will root for them. I always do. But the losses have been disappointing. The problem is that the Woodson era will end in a few years. Where will IU basketball be then? Maybe Gene Keady will still be available and willing to dye whats left of his hair and coach the Hoosiers.

I just got home from the bar after a day of fishing. You know the saying, "A bad day of fishing is better than a bad day of IU basketball."
We all get drunk at both... so it's a wash.

Apathetic. When do the women play?

Where is Bob Knight when you need him? Oh, that's right. He's dead. So is Indiana University basketball. I'm sorry for saying that. But it's true. I love Indiana basketball. Indiana basketball is still the best in the US. But Indiana University basketball is just bad.

IU will lose the next 3 games. Hate to say it, but no way we win at Whiskey. They live for this -- those people have nothing better to do. Maybe ice fishing, I dunno.

At least nobody died.
Hopes, dreams, maybe a winning season? Tourney success? All dead. All dead. I got the humor. I honestly laughed, I really did. But IU basketball is not in good shape. I think Freddy put it best. The 70's were a much simpler time...

It pains to admit this, it really does, but IU is not a good team. It is what it is. Somewhere below Nebraska or Penn State.

The best thing I can say about Peacock is they have reunited me with my youth - listening to Don Fischer on the radio. I love it.
