You were spot on about Cupps in the Game Thread. We were only down 2 at half because of the D Cupps was playing.

It is on tonight up here.
Sandra Day O'Connor passed away a few days ago. A documentary about her life is being shown instead, which I'll watch. I've already seen every Finding Roots episode anyway. So no complaints. GO HOOSIERS!!

Couldn't you do that if it was on regular TV as well, just not watch
I just found that Finding Your Roots isn't on tonight. It's been superseded. So my whole night is wrecked.. 😑

When I was a kid my Mom had a large vase of 5-6' foot tall peacock feathers in the corner of the living room. It was huge. Apparently that used to be a 'thing' back in the 50's. Very Victorian in a British type of way. I always thought it was weird. Death to Peacocks.

Thank goodness the game is on Peacock, that means I can instead watch "Finding Your Roots" and go to bed early. I'll check the score in the morning newspaper.

Mgbako continues to gain confidence. He’s been really engaged the last couple of games. I suspect he will only get better.
Sparks looks unplayable. He’s 3-15 from free throws. He was all freshman in Mac. Really shows the difference in big man play between mid major and high major.
As long as Sparks can beat the living crap out of opposing players down low to help Ware play his game away from the basket, I'm cool with the bad free throws. I just hope a game never depends on him making one. 😀

Interesting stat from last night...
IU's starting lineup had a combined 72 starts in college basketball games...
Maryland's had 312 combined starts in college basketball games including 2 players (Scott and Young) who had over 120+ starts apiece at the college level...
Two of Maryland's starters (Reese and Young) were preseason all Big 10 selections...IU did have any...Yet, of course since we walloped them, they aren't any good 🙄
Just wanted to fill up the thread a bit...The people who usually just come to gripe don't have the capacity I guess to give Mike Woodson and this team some credit...
It's gonna be a fun year...
It's gonna be a fun year... and I always look forward to your stats. 🙂

Anytime IU beats Maryland in basketball is a really good day. It just smells so good...

It sounds weird, but the first person I thought about after hearing the news of Knight's passing was Gene Keady. I bet this has hit him pretty hard. Those two were the undisputed Big Ten titans back in the day. Those IU-Purdue games in the 80's were nothing short of epic.

Next years Boiler team!!

We are way better than 8th in the B1G. I understand that we are an unknown, but Woody knows how to put a team together and coach them up. Sans injuries (fingers crossed) this may be a really good team.

I was assuming post season was included in this whole thing. Maybe not.
It's a grind, for sure.
IU will go into the postseason with 8 losses, and will be a force.

IU loses 20 games, per the Mad hatter, but beats PU twice and an undefeated UK team in the finals, ending Cal's career. Blah blah blah Bart Torvik.

I don't see how, as an NBA team, you can't see what he added this year with his dribbling and not imagine that he can add a perimeter shot. FT also significantly better.
Draymond is the picture perfect NBA comp.
He has the tools. He's a great kid. A once in a generation.

Recently, the last couple decades anyway, after a season of watching IU play basketball, I enjoy cutting grass.

I'm sorry, but IU is nowhere near as large and talented as the teams I just saw play in the Final Four. Not even close.

Have spent more than one weekend in jail for stupid stuff. Have driven at insane speeds high out of my mind, and have actually totalled my motorcylce on the interstate (falling asleep while riding after a cocaine binge). Things can and do happen when you are young. Sometimes you want/need to test boundaries and see how far you can push things.
Doesn’t make it right, but kids and young people often don’t understand or know what the right things are.
It can take time to be a reasonable, law abiding adult.
I've been there myself.

Good for Matta and good for Butler. If his health has improved he is still a young guy and has plenty of years to coach.

I was 15 years old. And that was my first season as an IU fan.
I was not raised an IU guy, I did not even discover basketball until I moved from Chicago to Kentucky when I was 12.
My best friend and his family were from Evansville and die hard fans, I jumped on the bandwagon and never got off.
This was where it all began fore!
Every college basketball fan needs to Google Evansville Basketball. When that plane went down the music died.

I don't trust anyone with their hair slicked back. Especially from the 80's.
