I am a tad sick of that "throw it in the dirt" chant.
They stole it from Ole Miss anyway.

So is the championship round a single elimination or would the other team have to beat us twice
IU has to lose twice.

Beyond the health of Sinnard, it really hurts to dig into the bullpen this early with Kentucky potentially looming tommorow.

Hopefully nothing serious with Sinnard. IU up 3-1 early but not sure on injury.
Hope so as well. Looked like some numbness in the fingers and a possible issue with the elbow.

Speaking of Ole Miss, did anyone see where a kid hit 4 HRs with 10 RBIs in their game yesterday???
WOWZA!
Yep. Calvin Harris from Dubuque, Iowa. Great player. All four homers were crushed.

None of these guys, unless Eblin or Hess get in the portal, would on a roster next year.
IMO--- again, 10000% an opinion, baseball is different from basketball/football recruiting in regards to having a connection to the staff/knowing the staff/rapport with a staff before even being interested in being recruited by that school.
Hopefully that gives us a leg up on the 4 in state kids.
Simply put... ANY of the 4 kids in HS now moving their commitments to IU would be huge, more than 1 is massive.
Ahh they are instate. That makes sense. I didn't realize that.

Ehh.. still gotta be playing time, thats BY far #1 in baseball.
The Duff kid could start Day 1 in CF with Whalen moving on after next year.
Will be interesting to see how it plays out this offseason. I know Ole Miss has a lot of holes to fill in the portal.

IU not getting any of these soon to be decommits would be even worse!
That would definitely be nice! Not sure if the NIL IU is offering will be competitive enough to snag these guys.

https://www.therepublic.com/2022/08/09/bode-transfering-from-louisville-to-iu/
Bode mentions here playing C, 1B, OF, or DH. But, yeah, official he's coming to IU. Holy cow we are deep.
From the message boards and Twitter, it appears Ole Miss righthanded pitcher Wes Burton will be transferring to IU. 6'8" pitcher that didn't have a role this past year. Definitely a big personality that will bring a lot to the program in that regard. Fastball, slider, changeup mix mostly and struggled to find the strike zone over his career in Oxford. However, can be very effective when he's in the zone.

We’ve lost so much pitching to draft last couple years. Are we losing any recruits to the draft??
I do not believe so.

Tennessee picked up Reggie Crawford from UConn.
Crawford got picked up by the Giants with the last pick in the first round. I expect him to sign.

The 2024 class in Indiana has like 15-17 kids all ranked top 400. Nutty.
Today Ole Miss picked up Xavier Rivas out of the portal. Rivas was a first team All-American at the University of Indianapolis. He's a Portage native.

Also saw where Dutkanych from Brebeuf turned down the draft and will head to Vanderbilt. Indiana high school baseball is very underrated.

LSU must be tired of the state of Mississippi winning baseball championships. From the transfer portal they've added:
Pineda - shortstop from Baylor
Tommy White - 27 homers at NC State
Christian Little - very talented pitching transfer from Vandy
Carter Young - Three year starter at short from Vandy
Dylan Tebrake - Pitching ace from Creighton
LSU now probably has the most complete roster for 2023.
Tigers added Thatcher Hurd today, formerly of UCLA. LSU will be loaded.

What a season. What a team. What a story.
The 2022 Ole Miss Rebels have probably taken the top spot for my favorite sports season.

This is going to be insane. With Tennessee eliminated, every one of these teams has to feel like they have a realistic shot to win it all.
Per Nick Suss (Ole Miss beat writer) on Twitter, here's how the four SEC West teams did against each other in the regular season.
Texas A&M: 5-4
Arkansas: 5-4
Auburn: 4-5
Ole Miss: 4-5

SECW is silly.
Also-- Texas, Tex AM, Oklahoma, Arkansas are all in the CWS. Those fan bases don't like each other.. and all four can absolutely win this thing.
ND Tex
TAM OU
Aub Ole Miss
Stanford Arkansas
Going to be a good one. Shew

SECW is one win away from 4 in Omaha.
The other 3--- Miss St (defending champ), LSU (top 5 program), Alabama.. veryyyy good baseball team, played without their 1st rd pick SP.
Ben Hess was really good for Alabama. Wish he could have stuck with his original commitment.

What a ride for Ole Miss. Sources indicated Mike Bianco would be out if the Rebels missed the tournament. Now he's erased some past ghosts and probably has job security for the rest of his career.

Brody Brecht from Iowa is the real deal. Hitting around 100 with a nasty slider. Ole Miss isn't a good offense this year, but they looked lost against him. Iowa's bullpen is garbage.
