  1. This isn’t a Purdue board. Go take a vacation. This BS isn’t welcome here. Have some self awareness.
  2. lol. And that did not end well for the drill instructor!
  3. Fine with me. I don’t know if bridges were burned but why let him fool you twice? I could see them moving on. It’s not like we don’t have other options in sight.
  4. I am with you. I would like to see more emphasis on skills in our recruitment. You need complementary talent. This is not a shot at Woody but something I feel IU has lost for 20 plus years: being savvy with in-state assessments. Athleticism and measurables are great and you need some of that. But really good scouting involves a deep dive into understanding the talent, projecting them, looking at skills, and building a roster of complementary players. We’ve got to do a better job looking under the hood, understanding a kid’s makeup, motor, toughness. These are all hallmarks we’ve got to return to IMO. This is a program issue, not a Woody issue. You have to look at your built in advantages and find inefficiencies in the market in recruiting. Indiana has better high school coaching and competition. Kids play in front of 10k like it’s nothing. Indiana develops sound kids who are skilled, can shoot etc. We keep launching teams without those attributes. Not saying we need a small and unathletic team of shooters. But look at how many mid major players come kick ass at the bigger levels. Two started for Connecticut. Take some of those guys and match them with the Wares and Rices etc.
  5. Rabby was on Hoosier Hysterics a week or two ago. Said he saw Conwell in high school and thought he was pretty good. Was surprised he was being overlooked at the time when he talked to college coaches. We can correct course now. Conwell is a tough kid and rebounds like an animal for his size. You can easily run him in three guard lineups
  6. I read somewhere that he was sub 50% from the charity stripe. That would knock him down the list to me.
  7. Congrats on a terrific season and run.
  8. He would have been the scariest hire they could have made IMO.
  9. Man, sorry to hear that. Glad you got to the bottom of it. I am sure your apology (not that I noticed anything) is well received as it takes a big man to do so.
  10. Agree. Ballo doesn’t complement Reneau. Nice player but you need to build a roster.
  11. Ideal on paper. Length and can come off the bench and develop next year with a bigger role down the line.
  12. Haven’t seen him play beyond highlights but he seems like an either/or with Hickman.
  13. Looks like a gorgeous morning in Phoenix.
  14. GD, Alabama plays an electric style of ball.
  15. Would love to see how they pressure the ball on D. We know they are dynamic on offense. Our slow, stagnant roster could really improve.
  16. Humrichrous and Hickman would make me happy for a variety of reasons to complement Rice plus Carlyle if that combo could reasonably happen. Also it’d be nice to have dynamic guards and get off ball dominance from Malik. Let the guards control the action at both ends. Let Malik improve his overall game.
  17. This is an obscure reference but Carlyle and Rice together reminds me of those Kansas backcourts with Frank Mason and Devonte Graham. Quick and dynamic, downhill. Pressure the ball on D. They were very tough to deal with as a tandem. Do not get me wrong, we need shooters and get off the old offense.
  18. GM Ryan Poles to me is pushing the right buttons. I’ve always agreed with how he’s handling the QB situation. Haven’t agreed with every single thing he does but this is a big picture issue and in that sense I like how he’s building the team. The coach is meh to me but the roster is going to be so much better that his record will improve drastically. You get the hardest thing to find in a QB and my bet in future years is they go hard on defense. Meaning, over the next several years, sky is the limit. Minnesota has zero hope for the future as of today. Detroit is good with an excellent coach. But the Bears talent influx that will be coming is going to be huge. Upside is there.
  19. Those numbers are so consistent that it’s not a coincidence. Whenever I hear his name, the picture you just displayed is top of mind for me.
  20. Agree. A point guard who can keep the ball in front of him on D can really set the whole defense. Yes, shooting is an issue but, man, our defense was worse. Didn’t we give up close to 90 to Wisconsin? That needs corrected. The other issue is basketball IQ. For a tradition like ours, we need to really upgrade that as well. IMO
  21. 💯 I think the ideal fit is a high upside younger player. Someone who is developing and can protect the paint off the bench and be a starter in a future year. The kid from Duke also comes to mind. A guy who is ok with coming off the bench but growing in future years so we can build continuity. I think Woody can see himself in a handoff role where he can sell his tenure as a success if he puts us in a good position for the future. Save face and help the program.
  22. Now that’s a graduate school level reference at the deepest level, my friend. Like a Ph.D. We used to call @rico the ricopedia but that’s right there lol.
