Reneau. That was a typo. Reneau is undersized, doesn't rebound well enough, isn't a rim protector and is in constant foul trouble. If he's the starting 5 then IU will most likely be worse than they were this year in the B1G.

Correct…I don’t think Reneau is winning type of player. He is good in the post but his game doesn’t translate to success on the floor because he is a minus defender and rebounder…and you can’t play him at the 4. I’d prefer he move on honestly but if he is going to stay…he will have to learn to rebound and play the 5 with a lot more effort on the defensive end. That or he play the backup 5. It just is what it is with him.  I get it he is one of the few players on this team that can create his own shot but that doesn’t make him a winning player. Some just are high usage and best option on a poor offense.

Dude averaged 15 and 9 shot 36% from 3 and 78% from the FT line. IU is going get add a couple bigs so they might as well get good ones

I’m being sarcastic but if the plan is to play him like we did last year…no I don’t want him. He is a Ware clone as his numbers are very similar. If Reneau is staying he should play the 5 and we get 4 shooters to play off him. We only need backup bigs and offering back up minutes not someone looking to start…I don’t want another year of twin towers and standing. If Reneau is gone then of course. Woody can’t help himself…if he has two bigs that could each start he will do it….its his style…and we will be back to where we were. I’m all for players like this but we have to construct a roster better than last year.

Pacers just sucks right now. They haven't look the same since the Heild trade. Hailburton is not even close to being the same player he was before his injury.

Well they lost that spark that Ben brought…this team was always pretty fragile…very thin at the guard position.

It’s literally like putting salt into a wound. So not only do we have zero 2024 players to talk about we have to talk about a players success going to a rival school.

I know I know….this thread should be Dolsons home page so he is reminded every day just how inept Woody has been…we have nothing…Cody Zeller ain’t walking through that door…Victor Oladipo isn’t walking in….hell Tim Priller isn’t even walking in….thats how much Woodson sucks.

not sure why I look at this thread. It should be locked up. I don’t care anything about a Purdue kid or how good he will be the same why about any other big ten player. I care about IU players.

There aren’t any IU recruits…the closest recruit to IU would be the ones going to Purdue…so this is what we have for 24. Take it or leave it.

Nudge Sparks out unless he’s willing to become a preferred walk - on. Who cares if he’s willing to be 12th or 13th man…he’s taking up NIL and a scholarship that we could allocate elsewhere. He’s simply not a high major player. It’s now or never.

We don’t fill all the scholarships as it is and have no one to take his place. He may be starting for us next year so I wouldn’t be so fast to kick him to the curb

I remember when USI won the D2 Championship. I had it on the radio. It was awesome. But Pearl was a handful. He and IU would have been oil and water. Pearl being the oil.

Pearl was just before his time…his antics and discretions were made for this new age of college basketball. Heck Harbaugh and UM just won a NC and those two are basically blood brothers when it comes to personalities and actions.

  9. I almost thought Dallas may make a move for Fields…I don’t think Jerry wants Dak long term…but once you get onto that roller coaster investing in a QB that is good but not great it’s hard to get off.  Dead cap hits are franchise gutting for a few years. Look at Denver..they are having to destroy and completely tear it down after the Wilson mistake. If Jerry extends Dak again…yeah it could be bad. Almost think they should let him play it out and then let Fields and Lance fight it out…but it didn’t happen.

Blanks is win now, dude is like 100

Agreed…While I don’t think Cousins is one of those qbs that will carry you over the top…he is much much better than Fields or Wilson. He has some weapons there so I expect much better play in Atlanta.

I'm not the most knowledgeable NBA guy so take my thoughts at 50/50 at best....but we talked about this like 3 weeks ago. Losing to bad teams the way they have is just frustrating.

Their style of basketball lends itself to being inconsistent. Defensive identity lends itself to having a consistent team…something to hang your hat on when the shots don’t drop for stretches. Most of the time they don’t even care about that end of the floor it’s how fast can we get back to the other end so we can get a shot up. When it’s rolling of course they are great but on nights and stretches when it isn’t there…and better defensive teams limit out run outs etc…it’s bad.

It's amazing how many people think they're relevant.

Nothing about IU basketball is relevant. Not the players, not the coach, not the writers, and certainly not the fans who have nothing to cheer about. Thank you IU administration you accomplished your goal. You lost control at the end of the Knight regime and became so determined that you would never let athletics ever be more relevant then your academics again and you’ve done that ever since. Now your flagship sports program is completely irrelevant just like your academic university which is just like every other school in the country pushing out a homogenized education that is rich in cost and poor in quality.

It wasn't the officiating, he was just done coaching this team.

He was getting embarrassed because that game was about basketball philosophy and contrast in styles…and his got exposed for how antiquated it truely is. He’s a dinosaur and the mammals just ran roughshod all over his team…his ego couldn’t handle it. Look at the nba…Nebraska team looks more like the nba than ours….i know he will be back…and I have no excitement to watch this team…

So we've decided its time to fail or succeed yearly in the shot clock//// I think I love it ! !!

Playing through Penn St defense when it is set up is brutal…especially with no Galloway to break down his man…up tempo is how I would prefer to play.
