If we don't make the playoffs this year Ballard has to be fired. I understand about keeping your own if the team was a championship caliber team but I don't understand bring back marginal players. Pittman was the only one I thought that was imperative to bring back. Why bring back Grover then sign another DT and then bring back Bryan another DT. I just think he puts his premium money in the wrong positions.
Maybe I’m wrong but Grover was one of the highest rated run stopper. I agree Ballard has hit on all the positions that aren’t what I would call game changers..but he isn’t on the hot seat. As long as Richardson isn’t a flat out bust he will get a few more years. Irsay sees him as family. I’d say he has more support in the organization than Woody has on the BOT.

Bacot is like Edey…keeps those elbows high and clears the way.

Who do the ladies play in round 2?
Oklahoma.

Michigan St offense looks as stagnant as ours.

Now this is more NC game.

Gonzaga starts 3 big guys and their problem is who will guard Jones.
But none of those bigs can guard Edey…so they will be in deep foul trouble.

LOL! He is going into his 8th season so how long does he need. It seems like the only thing he cares about is his cap space but he never uses it.
If he hit more with his early draft picks maybe we wouldn't be in this situation. In 7 years he hasn't won the worst division in football and only made the playoffs twice
Irsay doesn’t like to change coaches or GMs. He values continuity. Ballard is no where close to the hot seat…so he has plenty of time.
Good or bad it’s just how it is. Plus Indy doesnt have the money for the guaranteed contracts. It’s about the money that has to be put into escrow. They’ve spent a bunch on their own with those big contracts.

This NC vs MSU game is being played like a B1G game…advantage MSU. Very physical.

Maybe it is time to change his philosophy since his hasn't worked. As for CB we already have enough young ones and we need a veteran on there
I think Ballard is playing the long game…looking 2-3 years out.

They have like no size
Their bigs will be in foul trouble immediately and then there will be none of those pick and pop 3s. Its a bad matchup for Gonzaga.

At least the games there 3 AFC South teams are trying to improve their teams. Ballard brings back mainly mediocre players from a mediocre team. Our only two outside free agents are a backup QB and a backup DT. We have 40 mil tied up to 3 DT's. We have one of them highest paid guard, Kicker, RB and punters but still no CB's or safeties. Pittman is pretty much the only really good player we have resigned
Ballard builds through the draft. It just is who he is. He trusts his ability (correct or not) to identify talent in the draft. I’d be shocked if we don’t take a corner with our first pick. There should be a couple elite ones sitting there. He will get a safety in the draft as well later on and then supplement in free agency after the $$ drops. There are a ton of veteran safeties available and even some interesting corners that could move over to the roll.

Nice list. Doubt he stays in state.
Hopefully Auburn is #2 on his list so if Pearl replaces Woody we don’t lose any ground. 😉

Another reach out to Devo.
Ughh..he was literally twice as bad this year as last year…and I didn’t want him last year. Does Woody’s staff just looks at measurables or do they even care if a kid is a winning player.

I don't really care for either program, but Gonzaga is probably the least worst option over Kansas. Plus I think they'll give Purdue a better game in the next round, especially with McCullar out.
I think neither match up well with Purdue.

He's already said he's done with Purdue after this year...
I don’t believe it. If they don’t win it all I could easily see him coming back for more guaranteed NIL money. He will never make as much in the nba on two way contracts as what he can make at Purdue.

I am so very tired of watching Edey ball. I'm tired of his swinging elbows, of his walking through people with impunity. I'm tired of the Big Ten style of basketball Edey embodies, and I know it won't end when he leaves, but I'll be very glad to at least have him gone.
I believe he still has a Covid year. No lock he leaves.

Yes they should take him. Kid can ball.
He would have the same role here. If he is cool with a rotational piece then sure..but I suspect he would stay where he is if that’s the case or step down a level to start somewhere at a mid major.

I didn't mean face mask like a covid mask, I meant like a football face mask.
I was trying to work some hyperbolic sarcasm into a slam post.
Can't wait to see what tools newton has !
Got it…no I understood like a mask like the pitchers wear sometimes after they’ve been nailed by a line drive…I guess i didn’t understand the correlation with IU fans…I think most are happy ANYONE is staying after this crappy season. I don’t think anyone expects much from Newton. I’d be surprised he plays much at all. Not sure if he was even practicing full contact yet. If he could even give us 5-7 minutes of defense I’d be thrilled.

And one that has had a LONG time to spend with the staff, to learn, with ZERO pressure while healing so that the sponge is open cell, not closed. Anyone questioning this announcement, is the typical hoosier message board fan that grew up wearing a face mask playing right field in co-ed softball at 37 years old, because you now, a 250' line drive might hit me...... SOFT.
wearing baseball catcher gear for a 250' line drive to the face, in right field is many of Todays Hoosier fan base. Trans fans.
Is that a thing?? Never heard of this in my life. Obviously you must have witnessed it before once…but even if you did do you think perhaps that there could have been a medical reason why that might happen and perhaps that’s the bravest thing someone can do is to be out there playing because they love the game but have a legitimate medical condition?? I mean I don’t know because I’ve never heard of this but I suppose if I did I might not assume why they are and have a conversation with them.

what is glaring here is no Big Ten team has reached out.
Gentleman’s agreement not to recruit each others players?? If I was a commish I’d say no recruiting each others players. Let’s not eat our own. I guess at least not until they have gone in the portal…but most these teams reach out before I imagine.

Gonzaga and Purdue might be interesting..that said the Purdue bracket sets up real nice for them. I don’t expect them to be tested much until elite 8 final four.

I think I get what you are saying, and I have "cut the cable" which actually means a suckle from a different teet now.
I've yet to find ONE service that provides for my eclectic "taste". I need IU, Makers channel, OANN, Paw Patrol. I need gunsmoke, CSI, NCIS, COPS and BET (don't ask on those last two, it complicated).
I need TNT (right now)... NOPE don't have that one, so eff it.
Got it…that’s a crazy list…I’d be surprised if YouTube tv doesn’t have all that though…if not supplement it with a free app like Roku tv etc and I bet you can find it. I just know Sunday ticket with 4 screens is the best thing I’ve ever spent money on….mayne outside the engagement ring for my wife of course!! 😂

We can’t talk…Race was here forever and Galloway and Leal will be collecting social security next year.
but just like Bacot has no NBA future he stayed to make that NIL $$ I can see Edey do the same next year.
