  2. Yep, I am sure that when my guy goes--he'll be 10 in October, I'll do the same. Always there. Always loyal. Not ready to even consider him not being a part of our lives.
  3. The only cat I have ever owned was a barn cat my son brought home when we lived in Wisconsin and he worked de tasseling corn. Harley, because he purred like one. He wouldn’t abide staying in the house overnight and many a morning we found his “provisions “ for us on the deck. I am not a cat guy but Harley won my heart over
  4. Cell phone guy in a movie theater
  5. On a similar vein, and has become a running joke in my family. When someone does something for you, and you say "thank you." I was always taught to respond "you're welcome." Nowadays, it seems that the response du jour is "no worries." What????
  6. Dog walkers who don’t clean up after their pets
  7. Airline travelers who try to carry on bags that are clearly too big to be carry-ons, and then complain and hold up other boarding passengers as they try to squeeze the bags into the overhead bins..
  8. People who choose not to use their turn signals.
  9. Yeah. They started them with their feet running on the pavement, then the driver popped his head through the roof so he could see better 😉
  10. The very first race I attended was back in the late 70's. One friend and I went down for the race with a case of beer. The race became official on lap 101, and the downpour started on lap 101. They never started racing again that day. Rutherford won, I believe. We sat in the rain and drank most of the case before heading home.
  11. Great tribute to John Havlicek before the Bruins’ game
  12. Sorry. NBA playoffs are nowhere near as good or exciting as the NHL playoffs. Just not
  13. You do realize, Scott, that all that extra money has translated into better facilities, weight rooms, more to spend on better coaches. I would argue that those things, fueled by the money you mention, have helped draw a higher quality athlete to IU. Slowly and hopefully surely, that will result in a better team on the field
  14. Conference realignment historically has been, currently is, and in the future will be, driven by college football. If there will be any repositioning of the conference’s, it will only be done to broaden the demographics for football viewership, imo.
  15. I have never had this, but have a manager whose family swears by it. Every Thanksgiving, he buys about a dozen White Castles and his wife makes their stuffing from them. Several key ingredients are there--meat ( I think) bread, onions. She just adds celery and spices, puts it all in a food processor, and voila. There adult kids request it every year, and won't eat anything else. The recipe is out there on the net, for those who want to give it a shot.
  16. The original title of this thread was that the food was good... in this case, I’d say that it depends on the person. Living in Wisconsin for several years we met many people of Scandinavian descent, many of them Lutheran. I still haven’t figured out what the attraction was, but lutefisk meals, were big events. Lutefisk—cod soaked in lye, then deep fried. Maybe Badgervol has some experience with this but all I can say is that I couldn’t drink enough beer to compensate for the gawdawful taste
  17. I will honor Christmas in my heart and try to keep it all year. -E. Scrooge/ Charles Dickens
  18. And, in Cabo one year and the restaurant served an appetizer that made a spread out of corn fungus. Put it on crackers or bread. I didn't try it, but my wife said that it was good.
  19. alligator is excellent. In Aruba once and they served ostrich. Very good. Cross between lamb and beef.
  20. May you never be too grown up to search the skies on Christmas Eve. -Unknown
  21. Christmas is a necessity. There has to be at least one day of the year when we realize we’re here for something other than ourselves. -Eric Sevareid
