On this day in history...and misc. ramblings
Steubenhoosier replied to rico's topic in Colonial Crester's Corner
This day in history, one year ago today. There was no vivid-19 to deal with. No social turmoil. Wimbledon had just concluded. And my Twins were looking pretty good! -
Yes, the Black man is a civil rights proponent. Per the reports I read, the white guys pinned him up against a tree, used the “n” word, and talked about lynching. I think it might have happened on Lake Monroe, and the DNR were involved

I'll have to take some time and look at this more closely. From your experience, should I include the wife in this?😀

2022 Class Rankings and Discussion

I hope the kid goes to MSU and becomes the next of the group of players who lose to a CAM coached Hoosier team. We have had Izzo’s number as often as not and would love to see that continue -
So, Gilead Sciences which just got government approval for its coronavirus drug remdisivir, announces different pricing levels, based on whether someone is in a government sponsored health plan like Medicare, or private insurance. Drug is supposed to speed up healing by up to 4 days, thus reducing the number of days needed in a hospital room. Cost benefit, I can see. Multi-tiered pricing I kinda get. Guess the idea of corporations doing what is for the common good is whimsical thinking. I hope that insurance companies will do the right thing and fast track these new solutions to their covered medications lists. https://www.foxnews.com/science/gilead-sets-coronavirus-drug-remdesivir-price

Thanks. We have English Ivy that’s everywhere so it will probably latch on. My wife wants to hang some pots. I am going to research a weather proof tv to watch football -

Just got off a conference call and was informed that our state is reopening offices for client appointments if—local jurisdictions allow, by appointment only-no drop ins, mandating the client signs an attestation that they are not sick, and mandating they wear masks. It will be interesting to see what kind of response we get—whether folks are ready for this, or not

Dog, cat, something else, or nothing?

At least up here in NE Indiana there is a non-profit that will neuter all of those cats, once the kittens are old enough, at very little cost. You may want to research this where you live -
Stay strong Scott. Praying for you that tests come back showing no issues. Remember Job. You won’t be given more than you can handle

Lagrange County has just mandated that all citizens wear masks, in public areas, or even at their homes if maintaining 6 feet distance is not possible. This ruling due to a spike since Memorial Day weekend that has left their hospital at almost full capacity. St. Joseph County (South Bend and Mishawaka) has mandated face masks in any retail establishment, public transport facility, etc. Applaud the local governments that have taken matters into their own hands, as it appears that citizens on their own just can't act responsibly.

Yeah, I remember getting a pretty good pg from the Chicago area, back in the day

I have a client who does this, so I hired him. Besides the reciprocation, I don’t have the time , or ability, to do it myself -

You guys need to look into an irrigation system. The initial investment is a bit steep but it pays for itself over time. Mine draws from the lake but you can tap into whatever system provides your water -
So, I am having a pergola built and the installers are Amish. Supposed to be here Thursday. Going to keep my distance and going to keep my wife, who is at a higher risk, as far from them as possible. Weighing the wife’s desire to have this done ASAP v waiting for a while
