I told my wife all about Cupps before the game and said “this will be our family’s favorite Hoosier the next four years.” she rolled her eyes now she’s on the coach “YEA I LOVE THIS KID!”

Cupps needs all the minutes possible on the court. He will only get better with more min cuz he’s so D=%# SMART!

Agreed it’s hard to find passion or intensity it much of anyone’s eyes.

Just don’t understand why it’s so difficult to get out on shooters especially when you have good front court players behind you who can help you if they drive.

Although I knew it was going to happen soon, when I saw it on FB I gasped at the dinner table. My wife said “what’s wrong? What happened??” “Knight passed away.” She watched my reaction of shock turn to huge tears. Just laid my head on the table for awhile. 😭

I get what some of you are saying but the truth is times have changed. For most kids even “committing,” doesn’t mean they’re committed. It means “as of right now this is what I feel like unless what I feel like changes.” It’s literally meaningless. It’s no different than a kid narrowing his list to four schools and announcing that and then bringing another school in after saying so. If commitments still meant something yes I’d agree. But it doesn’t. Debate whether that’s good or bad…I say it’s bad, but it’s reality. So to sit back with an old school mindset and get railroaded by others doesn’t cut it. Like it or not “commitment,” doesn’t mean “commitment,” anymore. 🤷🏻‍♂️ dating around is shopping for a school. “Going steady,” is a commitment, getting married is signing and getting a divorce is transferring. Best analogy I can think of. For better or worse.

If you’re not recruiting ANYONE you have a chance with you’re not doing your job. Verbal commitments are HS “going steady.” Means very little. If it meant something fine, but it doesn’t mean much.

I agree. This whole process seems to show Fland likes and respects Woodson, so it doesn’t seem as though he’d announce UK with this timing. Obviously we don’t know. It’s possible he picked that day for other reasons and it just happened to fall on Hoosier Hysteria. It’s possible he didn’t even know that it was Hoosier Hysteria. But I think both of those points are highly unlikely. IF he does announce UK on this day then yes that’s a little sketchy. Waiting even one day would be much more respectful IMO.
