  1. You're missing the point...ANY coach can have a down season if they don't get their on the court leaders to actually lead... And, yeah, he has earned a chance next year...
  2. X 1000 Brings about the question "did Bob Knight forget how to coach in 1985?" His seniors that year were Uwe Blab and (ironically) Dan Dakich...Steve Alford was his best player, but he was only a sophomore and simply wasn't ready to assume the leadership mantle... And @tdhoosier made a good point...Trey Galloway has been asked to do too much...I've always thought he was a decent defender, but yesterday he was guarding Langborg most of the time, and that didn't work out so well...We can't ask him score, facilitate, defend, and have to shoulder the whole leadership load and expect him to be great at all of them... And I've said this before, but on the court leadership is the biggest flaw in this team, and yeah, that's on Coach Woodson...But it was a mistake born out of trust and loyalty...XJ hasn't been able to lead because of immaturity and injury...Walker and Leal are limited by their skills...So it's fallen to Trey...And I know he's trying... I also believe that Woody expected a bigger sophomore jump from Banks and Gunn...I remember seeing video of CJ working on his shot in the offseason...But even practicing shooting is fun...Put me in mind of an article I read on Miller Kopp last year who focused on his physical limitations playing defense by working all summer on his lateral quickness and studying film...Kopp was one of our better team defenders last year, and came up with some nice efforts (remember at Michigan?)...His off season work, while probably boring, helped his team...It's not talent that's keeping CJ off the floor...
  3. Well, we'll see I guess... Always a chance... I'd definitely like the kids to put something together in the next few games... Better late than never...
  4. And I'll say this... The mods here all the time stress to debate respectfully... @dgambill if you think phrases like "no IQ"or any statement that mentions "stupidity" is respectful in any context then you and I have different opinions on what respect actually means...
  5. Ok, "Mike Woodson has done more for Indiana University than the vast majority of people on this forum." Feel better? And that's not a personal attack at all... It's simply the truth... I've seen Woodson called lazy and stupid, regardless of the context a little too often for me to stomach...if rebutting that sort of ignorance rubs you the wrong way, sorry... Leadership is tough... Sometimes you make decisions that are wrong... But that doesn't make you lazy or stupid... I've expressed where I think Coach Woodson made his mistakes...
  6. If you read through the comments it looks like Queen said something to the effect that if Ware goes to the NBA he's a Hoosier... If not, going elsewhere...
  7. How did I twist your words? I quoted you directly... Twice...No IQ or stupidity at it's highest aren't ringing endorsements... You didn't put it in basketball context, but even if that was the intention, it goes from sad to comical... How has Woody fooled people like Larry Brown, Carmelo Anthony, and even our beloved Coach Knight all these years? Is he making Kreskin look like an amateur?
  8. You know, the constant griping about Mike Woodson's coaching I take with a grain of salt, but acknowledge them as people's opinion... Fine... But saying stuff like the above really kinda gets me stirred up... Mike Woodson has done more for Indiana University than anyone on this forum...Period...No contest... Saying he's low IQ or stupid is unnecessary, especially from people whose accomplishments don't even come close to those of Coach Woodson... Mike Woodson is a good man...I don't think that's even debatable...Question his coaching all you want...But belittling the man like the above makes me wonder about some...
  9. Low one today...15 due to the teams and the criteria...
  10. When: Wednesday, February 21th 8:30 PM EST Where: Simon-Skjotd Assembly Hall, Bloomington, Indiana TV: BTN Fred Hoiberg (58-91 overall at Nebraska) brings his 18-8 (8-7 in Big 10 play) into SSAH to face our Hoosiers. The Huskers are 0-7 on the road in the Big 10, but are currently riding a 2 game winning streak. The Huskers are led by 6'2 senior guard Keisei Tominaga who is not only a deadly 3 point shooter (39% in conference play) but has a good dribble drive game and shoots over 50% from 2. 6'9 junior transfer (Bradley) mans the 5 spot and is a steady presence on offense, and leads the team in rebounding (8 rpg) and assists (3 apg). 6'7 junior transfer (Charlotte) Brice Williams (13 ppg 38% from 3) and 6'8 high motor senior transfer (Kansas City, New Mexico) Josiah Allick (5 rpg) join Mast in the frontcourt, while 6'6 junior transfer (Alabama) Juwan Gary (12 ppg) is Tominaga's running mate. 6'3 sophomore Jamarques Lawrence and 6'0 sophomore Sam Hoiberg provide minutes off the bench, but the real weapon is 6'5 junior guard CJ Wilcher who is probably the leading candidate for Big 10 6th Man of the Year. Wilcher is a high volume 3 point shooter who's hitting a whopping 47% from 3 in conference play. Tominaga is pretty consistent in his home/road splits from 3, but both Williams and Wilcher are better at home. This team is last in the conference in 2 point FGs attempted and made, and middle of the pack defensively from 2, but leads the league in both 3 point attempts and makes, while checking in at 4th in the conference percentage wise. Tominaga went for 28 in our loss at Lincoln just after the New Year. Wilcher and Williams also score in double figures. Our frontcourt was able to score on the (Ware 20 and Reneau 14) and we won the rebounding battle, but we turned it over 19 times and our guard play was poor in our 86-70 loss. Another tough Big 10 game, but we have to buckle down, defend the perimeter, and take advantage of our inside strength if we want to win this one. GO HOOSIERS!
  11. 20-11 FT advantage and you still get beat...
  12. He's picked it up... Drained 2 3s to put the Bucks up 9... And even Buckeyes know...
  13. Deibler was getting the freshman, Royal, Middleton, and Parks (who has barely seen the floor) some run... And Okpara and Battle are both scoreless...
  14. The last 3 minutes or so with Edey riding the pine, I'm not sure they got a rebound... Ohio State was getting 2 or 3 looks every time down because they were crashing the boards...
  15. Boilers gearing up for their March collapse? Down by 5 in Columbus to the Buckeyes just before halftime... And they're getting a look at life without Edey (on the bench with 2 fouls) and it ain't pretty...
  16. So Malik is considering Kentucky, Tennessee, and...UAB?
  17. Probably look better to ya if they had baby crap yellow bordering...
  18. 49..Dave Boswell was the guy Billy Martin knocked out in a bar parking lot and was never the same pitcher...
  19. That's not exactly what he said, but don't let facts get in the way... “I get it, at the end of the day that’s Indiana in general,” Jackson-Davis said. “The thing is, you can’t build something if you fire someone every two to three years. It’s not going to happen. I don’t think he’s that worried. Especially after he makes the tourney twice, we were second in the Big Ten last year, we were one game away from the Big Ten Tournament championship game. “He’s done what he needed to do, but obviously in a down year, next year’s going to have to be big, but I think that they’ll regroup well.”
  20. Not a big IPA guy, but the place we ate at yesterday has a pretty good one that I have from time to time...Yellow Rose from Lone Pint brewery... More a Porter, Bock, Wheat, and Scottish Ale fan...Most of my favorites you can only get in the Midwest though...
  21. This is the one I was drinking... Ah, only 9.5% ABV...The label musta been blurry
  22. Ware and Reneau HAVE to dominate Nicholson/Martinelli/Hunger/Preston inside...Collins doesn't mind having his team hack the crap out of you on the inside, because he's got some depth there, and they are 1st in the league at committing personal fouls...Mac has to at least play Barnhizer even... And as I said, not sure I want to see Gabe on Buie or Langborg...CJ and/or Leal could play a big role today...
