When DD became intern head coach of a top 15 team that problem players he kicked a starts of the team. He did what was right and caught a lot of hell from fans. Aarman Basset and Ellis I believe He might be a ass sometimes and is not a saint by any means. Everybody makes mistakes and deserves second chances Those players he showed the door had several chances These players deserve a second chance. This how you learn the hard lessons. Make mistake and learn. Hopefully they understand they let the fans down. But more importantly that they let the coaches and their teammates down. This can make them stronger or weaker. It is up to them and we will find out.

Blame shouldn’t go on the players in the court. Even with guys not playing that good. The suspended players are the ones at fault. It was easy for northwestern to run at davis and Thompson in the post and be physical. Galloway ran out of gas and as usual Davis tried to do to much. this team needs a wing player that can step up a score. Hopefully the staff lets Trey run the offense a little more and drive

We ran several plays for steward today and he convert in the first half not the second

Not the end of the world. Still have at least 5 very winnable games. Really need rob back. TJD needed to face up and drive Kofi more. Backing down just not going to work The turn and throw elbow from kofi has to be a foul. Just ridiculous. Give credit to the Illini. Frazier and Plummer can’t shoot on the move and need no space

Harrar plays more out of the pick and roll than he does out of the low post. Neither of those players are going to kill you posting up. Cockburn lives in the post Durr is better banging in the post. Lacks the post speed to play the pick and roll

Texas hasn’t beat anybody close to what IU has. Purdue and OSU wins are better than the Tennessee win and TCU win. Stanford win by Texas in December not bad. But Iu win over Irish about the same. It’s not even close. Tennessee has some nice wins and is still ranked but are the Arizona wins and LSU wins any better than Purdue and Osu. The early wins over ranked teams still seem to carry a lot of weight. If IU started out ranked we would still be ranked.

I missed that There will a lot of players that want to take a extra year asked to move on at a lot schools. That is going to make the portal even crazier

I agree but most coaches haven’t left good situations to go to programs that are having issues. If pearl leaves auburn for Louisville it is because he has issues with how auburn is treating the program. He can get to final 4a and have the same opportunity to win a championship there has he does at UL. If win you can get players any where. Hardaway does it without winning. The SEC schools have money and the league is getting better. UL has plenty on money too, just not sure it is enough with all the problems

UL is a higher profile job but recent history shows most coaches seem to be happy at current P5 jobs when winning. Haven’t seen a lot of movement from guys when winning. Musselmen and oats come to mind as guys who have no interest. Coaches can win at most P5 schools and get paid. No reason to leave a good situation to have to rebuild.

Everybody thinks that The truth is a guard heavy offensive is tough to handle. That’s why we struggle now on offensive. Double the post and force the guards to shoot. The lane is clogged up with somebody always in the post. UM and Dickerson killed us by staying out of the lane and opening it up for drives and hitting perimeter shots. Next years team will have guys like Geronimo and duncomb. Both have proved to better jump shooters than race and trayce. The driving lanes open up for guys like Johnson Galloway and bates. Loosing race and trayce might hurt worse on defensive end

We finally have team that you can debate who is playing the best. Instead of playing to develop for the future we have 7 guys that could start. Davis,Thompson, XJ, Rob, Galloway, steward and Kopp. Kopp and steward are 2 best shooters. They help space the floor for Davis. That is why they start. Rob is the best backup to point guard and XJ the best point guard. That is why Rob comes off the bench. Having Galloway in the second group gives you an additional ball handler and play maker. Geronimo is coming along nicely as well. This team is getting a good rotation going

Sure beats watching Fran and Izzo

If watch Race warm up before the game he makes a lot of his 3s. He has good form. A few of those were in and out last night during the game. I have no problem with him taking a couple wide open looks a game. You at least have to make the defense choose to contest or let you have it

Galloway being healthy is huge for this team. He can defend multiple types of players and does the little things on offense Geronimo is starting to play and look comfortable. Even Bates is starting to look like the game is slowing down for him Durr was huge last night

Should have been a foul on mcgowns for diving in XJ when he had the ball. Should have been T for trying to rip the ball away after the whistle and let him get up. And the leg scissors should he’s been a T as well. Could have gave XJ a T for the fake kick as well. Horrible officiating in that sequence.

Nice call by the staff to set up steward for the 2 early 3s in the second half. Need more of that win 2 out of the three and make a run in the back off

Great game by Geronimo hopefully this get him going nice jumper better team with Galloway even though he made some bad plays down the end the dive on top of X should have been a foul not a jump ball. Them the wrap up with the legs and taken down was a punk move and should have been called. That is how players get hurt

Throw Galloway out there with those two and the perimeter defense gets really strong. Add Davis and Thompson and that’s a tuff group to score against. Phinisee has to knock down some 3s in that line up and they need to get out and run to score hit I really like that unit in the floor together

We are a much better team with Galloway on the floor. He catches the ball on the perimeter and is already on the. I’ve and attacking

Parker looked to put the ball on the floor for a dribble or two. Putting pressure on the defense rather than just pass or shoot. He definitely looked more aggressive and it was good to see from him

We are a vastly better team with Galloway Does all the little things and can play D he needs to see the floor more. One of Kopp or Steward should be on the floor at all times to stretch the D

Very true he can and will earn is time as his defense gets better. If he sticks it out he can get major minutes in the years to come. If he can’t see that and out in the work to get there. Then he can go. For the record, I like him and think he has a big future at IU. Judging how he was in the sideline, I think he believes that as well
