Kopp has a chance to play a lot of minutes as a back 4 and some 3 next year if race does t come back. He fits that roll very well. He can stretch the floor as 4. Will have to work on rebounding. He is better perimeter defender than both race and Geronimo.

He had his moments and was starting to play better at the end of the season. Maybe a change would do him good.

Can see Kopp playing some minutes at the 4. It would help spread the floor and open some driving lanes. If race leaves. I can see Kopp and Geronimo playing the 4. Kopp could play minutes at the 3 and 4. Would work well with a long athletic center that can defend and rebound. Maybe we get lucky and Davis comes back. If race comes back you could play race at the 5 some and Kopp at the 4.

Agree UNC really only start to look good the last part of ACC play. They looked really inconsistent most of the year. Davis and Love got hot lately. The Irish were steady but nothing special. Hell we even beat them. Virginia looked like crap and they had a good acc record

The problem with the big ten is to many teams try to run the offense thru the post. It clogs the paint for drives. It is easier to defend inside out than to guard ball movement and drives with an open lane. Watch Miami play. Nobody post up. Ball moves and everybody drives and cuts. If someone is always posting up the cutting and lanes are limited. The Williams kid for Duke will score 14 to 15 and never really post up. He just moves and cuts to open areas and put backs on rebounds. Open up the lane for the guards and athletes to drive. Hopefully that is what Woodson wants to do. IU’s offensive was better when TJD was in PNR and moving freely not just staying in the post and going from side to side

Don’t know how you don’t let Ivey drive and throw up to Eddy or Williams or just score. Nobody can stay in front of him

Watched Hunter at several games work the officials during timeouts and interact with players in teaching moments on the bench. Seem to do there job well and recruiting seems to be going good

This appears to be a good move. I too have no idea about any off the 3 guys coaching ability or development ability. Hunter and Yas have been coaching for a while and have been with other good coaches and programs as well Seems like they are good at their jobs. We also have Matta. Don’t mind the move at all. The players seemed to get better so it would seem the coaches did there job. Fife was a big name assistant. Doesn’t mean he is better than Hunter or Yas. Maybe the fit of the staff helps the team. I see nothing negative in the promoting if the current guys. again the staff seemed to make the players better as the year went along and the defense certainly improved over last year. Personally I like the direction of the program. Looks like a no nonsense approach with players and staff

Don’t know if the stuff being said about Fife is true or not. we have a coach that is going to do it is way and wants everybody on the same page. That is what we have been missing for years. Get on board or get out. If Woodson and Fife didn’t get along then make a change. Not one player has came out said the accusations against Fife were false or came out in support. Not even the guys leaving. That is very telling to me. I wish Fife the best and will always be a fan of him. Sorry it didn’t work out here. Woodson is at a minimum a strong leader. I like that. Don’t agree with everything he has done or will do but he has been firm and deceive. That I respect and that is what we need now.

Sampson’s undoing had more to do with the off the court issues and classroom struggles of the players. That is what cost him the job. He had a chance to survive the phone calls hit the off the court issues where too much and rightfully so. He is an excellent coach and no doubt would have won a lot of games and had IU at the top of the big ten. Not sure the fan base could keep looking the other way on all of the other stuff

Not surprised at all wish him the best in the future. Didn’t seem to fit in on the defensive end.

Really liked Fife Something seemed off as the year went on. If woody and fife didn’t mesh then it was time to move on. We need a unified locker room and it starts from the top and goes down. Hopefully it works out. My guess is IU will be just fine. The mark of a good leader is to make tough decisions. Like most fans we are never happy with all the coaching moves and can second guess everything. At the end if this what Woodson wanted and the higher iOS thought was best than so be it. We will be better off in the long run if fife and Woodson were not getting along to part ways now

That was Norte dame’s 3 game in 9 days IU 5 games in 8 days that was as much the problem as the travel

Bad end to season still enjoyed the season for the first time in a long time. The future looks better than it has in awhile. with Woodson we will always play hard

Excellent D all game. Stewart I payed great D most of the night. We frustrated the main 2 guys. not sure the pregame people knew IU and plays in the big ten. Acted like we have t seen a big guy that could play in the post. Even surprised we didn’t double team the post. Very poor preparation and very one sided commentary. offense was a struggle. Credit Wyoming the slowed the game down made it ugly and we couldn’t knock any jump shots down win is win survive and advance

I do think they should give some credit to how a team is playing at the end of the season. Some teams get bad draws playing teams that are hit and playing the best they have all year. If your playing really hood at the end of the year it should count for something. If your playing bad it should count. Teams improve as the year goes some lore than others.

Looking at the overall seeding it doesn’t look like the conference tournaments played a big roll in seeding. Michigan and Rutgers where in going into the week. Didn’t move after getting beat. Iu in the bubble stayed on bubble by just moving in. They look at the whole year equally. IU didn’t move a lot because we played good the last week.

We can definitely win two or 3 games with that draw. Davis and Johnson have to keep playing like they the last few games
