Absolutely dumbfounded over those 9 seconds. I thought I've seen everything. I'm sorry I see nothing good with that strategy of fouling. First, we are foul prone already/ 2nd, it gets us into our bench.

I mean Ohio state did the same thing except they were too close to the bonus to keep going. Only difference was X drove kinda early then drew a shooting foul.

The problem with basketball boards is unless they win every game, it's just constant gloom and doom. I am a bigger IUBB basketball fan than an IUFB fan (if I had to rank that is) but the negativity is unbearable and quite frankly takes away from both the fun of the boards and the games. I am not speaking for anyone but myself, but I wanted to chime in on the subject since I rarely check the basketball threads these days unless it's about recruiting.

Careful. They don’t like it when the word negative gets thrown around.

    Correct...

But, the backside puller/fold guy/whatever you want to call him... #77 doesn't do his job either. If he reacts quicker to the UM DE closing and logs OLB (I'm guessing that's where he lined up, I can't see his number here) the play might still have a chance... it's also possible Milroe didn't hit where they wanted him to hit either, #77 could have been (rightfully) expecting him to bounce wider, which might make sense why the rest of the play ended up the way it did.

I need to go find the regular TV view... I'm pretty sure UM went straight Cov 0 here and brought 6 with a 7th being the rover.... like, I think Bama is completely outnumbered in the box here and this play was doomed from the beginning.

Don’t want to derail this thread but not gonna lie miss you over on the bball board telling people they zero clue what’s going on…we kinda need that now and again over there.

Execution was worse than the call. Low snap, then OL gets pushed back and trips his QB

I guess but they haven’t really been able to run up the middle that well all game most of the good runs were off tackle or bouncing outside.

that's fair and would put us at 20-11.  i would like to think a 20 win season for IU is still tourney worthy, but is it?  i hope so.  still kind of think we'd be biting our nails going into the BTT.

I can’t even speak on if it’s tourney worthy or not. Just because I have no idea what the committee wants year to year. I would think we would probably need one game in the BTT at that record.

absolutely great point about Illinois.  i do think we could possibly win that game if the wheels are coming off.  also i wasn't being sarcastic about the teams you said.  i could see those as possible wins.  i appreciate you naming the weaker ones.  if you were a betting man, what do you think our conference record will be?

    12-8

fair enough.  i am curious what others think.  it has been so hard to get road wins in conference.  if we get those 5 along with the Michigan one, i'd be very happy.  i guess that's assuming we win all of our home games.  we didn't do that last year.  if i counted right, we won 4 conference road games.  just wondering what most would predict if they went through our upcoming conference schedule and had to make a bet with someone.  i say 9-9 from here, so 11-9.  that would put us at 19-12 going into the BTT.  i would think we'd need to have a solid showing.  just my thoughts and prediction.  i hope we go 18-0!

I’m realistic to know we aren’t going to win every conference game but those are the probably the best chances at a road win also I wasn’t saying we could win at Illinois. I was just saying that game is one that could go our way with has happened over there.

so, i get your stance is that no one is allowed to be "negative" other than you when you're upset, but this time i think i'm being more realistic than negative.  i mean, i hope we are about to go 20-0 in conference, but just because i want that, should i say i think it will happen?  i like this team and it's potential.  that said, serious question - how many road conference games do you think we'll win?  road wins are awful tough in conference even against weak teams.  has been that way for quite a while now.  we were 12-8 last year.  without even diving into other ratings, just looking at the rankings you have Purdue, Illinois, and Wisconsin ranked.  Ohio St, Michigan St., NW are all receiving votes and we are not.  anyway, i'm saying looking at the schedule i think somewhere around 11-9 or 10-10 seems reasonable.  i think that would put us on the bubble. what is your honest opinion?  you think we go undefeated at home?  what road games do you expect us to win?

I could see us winning Rutgers Penn state Maryland Minnesota the Illinois game might be one to watch with the developments that have happened with that team…

At one point late in the game Kansas was out scoring us in the paint. Did it finish that way?  That hasn’t happened this year (maybe UConn, I can’t remember).  Showing some pulse from outside gave us a chance today.

Nope. Ended up tied at 36.

I missed the game and felt if we lost by single digits it would be a moral victory, though i hate moral wins.   But, what changes did CMW make that allowed Trey to be an offensive force.  It is amazing, considering his previous games.

I mean nothing really he just actually hit his layups this time versus missing them.
