    Section 11

    We have a great time

I’ don’t doubt that. When I was at IU, and when I lived in Chicago, I went to virtually every game (missed a few when I was in Chicago). Would love to be at the Cinci game and am sure you, and everyone in attendance, will have a great time.

We had our best attended game vs an absolute train wreck of a team in a long, long time.. noooo reason to complain about people leaving at halftime of this one. Student section was literally filled to the brim.

I'm all on board about games in the past and not being happy about ppl leaving.. not this one. Idaho sucked.. and we had a very, very good crowd. Tailgating was legit. Yes, I understand it usually is.. but it just felt different today.

Gotta go find a way to beat Cinci.

Many positives tonight but I prefer that people don’t leave at halftime. That’s all. Did not realize I needed your permission to feel that way. You can disagree with me 100 times and I will still feel that way.

Agree turnout was great and we need to find a way to beat Cinci.

Well it shouldn't be. Punish the player by making him sit for a play or a few. A penalty results in yards lost because it gave the offending team an unfair advantage. I'm not sure how a dude running with his helmet off contributed to that run.

I’m guessing the rule was put in as a player safety measure.

Trying to say Iowa loss was not as bad as it seems!!! We have a lot of new going on (coaches ,players, rust on QB, But if I REMEMBER RIGHT IU WAS A Sister of the poor for most of my life!!! From a Dekalbhoosier!!!

We are doing what we should, so far, tonight. Guys are getting comfortable,  more reps etc and it will be fun (hopefully fun) to see how that translates next week against Cinci. Looking forward to the game.

Watching the Irish and the ‘Noles tonight. Good football game, I can’t help but wonder if or when the Seminoles name and their Native American logo would ever get dropped…

FSU has been directly working , and communicating with, the Florida Seminole Tribe since the 70’s. The tribe has been involved with what Chief Osceola (the dude on the horse) wears, whether or not cheerleaders can wear Seminole garb (no),  etc. They have had a close relationship for nearly 50 years. There is some debate as to whether or not $$$ is involved (no proof) but in any case FSU has listened and tweaked some things, due to tribe input, in the past.

How long will it last….who knows.

  6. It’s way, way too early to panic but my “day dreaming” about Penix throwing 2 TD’s to Ty, one to Hendershot and Carr ripping off a 40 yard TD run, all against Iowa, has turned into concern. In addition to the offensive woes it’s hard to ignore that MSU beat Northwestern, Maryland beat WVU, PSU beat Wiscy, Rutgers looked good, MN battled OSU, etc. Some of our “easier”games (MSU, MD, Rutgers) are looking a lot tougher now.

Win the next 2 and things will look radically different/better.

Penix looked like a guy who hasn't played in a game in close to a year.

No doubt. He has missed a ton of time, was very rusty and had to be mentally worried about taking his first few hits. Penix would probably be the first to say he had a bad game but I think he is catching too much sh%t. The upcoming Idaho game is the perfect next opponent for him, and our entire offense, and I’m not hitting the Penix panic button unless he lays an egg at both Idaho and Cinci.

It was good to see Evans calm down. He was crapping himself on his first few punts. His last few were really good. You could see the power he has.

I agree. He definitely improved as the game went on. It’s hard to imagine being from New Zealand and kicking your first EVER  punt, at any level in an actual football game, and in front of 70,000 people. Not exactly a setup for success but to his credit he turned it around a bit.
