  1. Juwan Morgan is with the Jazz. I hope he avoids getting this.
  2. I'm a teacher. We've been told to have plans ready for assignments students can do at home for a shut down. The phrase, "It's not if, it's when," was used in a meeting.
  3. I have had similar thoughts to what you posted. IU needs to start figuring out what to do and how to handle this now, not three years from now.
  4. Wait until a toddler is involved. You get about 3/4 of an inch. And don’t even think about turning over or changing positions.
  5. Staff meetings that take longer than necessary because people keep asking questions. It’s funny that backing into parking spots comes up here. The only place I back into a parking spot at is Assembly Hall. If you don’t back in out in lot 11 where I park, it will take forever to get out.
  6. It does look cool. It would be neat to wake up there.
  7. Thanks. Today had some tough moments. The singing of Back Home Again was the hardest. A couple of my really good friends came to me not long after Dad died and said they would go with me if I wanted them to until Little Keet is old enough to go. Having one of my best friends along helped.
  8. Bourdais. He pushed him down to the grass.
  9. Forecasts are looking better. I think we get it in too, but I will have one eye on the sky and one hand on a poncho at all times. I never pick a guy to repeat, but I can see Power getting his second in a row tomorrow. Watching Kanaan, Hunter Reay, and Hichcliffe start from the middle to back should be fun.
  10. I love all things IMS as much as anyone, but they are way too tied to their rituals and traditions to do anything as sensible as adjusting the start time, particularly moving it up. I get the TV contractual stuff, but my gosh, start the thing at 12:00 (and I mean drop the green flag, not start the engines) and you almost certainly can get in 101 laps by 2:00.
  11. It was Rutherford. He is the only driver ever to walk to victory lane.
  12. It looks like the rain chances don't start picking up until 2:00 on Sunday. It might be the Indy 250 this year.
  13. It was shown live for the first time in 1986. They lifted the blackout in Indianapolis for the 101st in 2016 when all reserved seats were sold and they sold the max number of general admission infield tickets they felt they safely could.
  14. Anyone who lives closer to Indy have any insight on the forecast? It looks like there is a chance for some rain, but hopefully it holds off until the late afternoon or evening.
  15. Here is why I hate the new format. Alonso was faster than Pippa Mann, so the fastest 33 are not starting the race.
  16. If rain washes today out, they will do the last row thing tomorrow. I still think Alonso and Hinch get in. I heard an interview with Karam on the radio yesterday. He sounded spooked. I’m not sure he will make it in.
  17. Alonso might be in some trouble today. Apparently he had a punctured tire on his run. I hope that is the only reason he was so slow.
  18. Power ended up at 229. I think the fastest without a tow were in the 224-225 range.
  19. I agree 100% about Tony George. He should have been drawn and quartered for what he did in 96.
  20. I think the move to NBC is great. They have done wonders for the Kentucky Derby. I expect the same for the 500.
  21. I think I start one of these every year. Growing up my two loves in sports were IU basketball and the 500. I will be attending my 26th this year, but my first without my dad. That’s going to be rougher than Christmas for me. Practice starts this week. I would normally keep a tab open on my computer at work with the live video feed, but that is by subscription only now through NBC. I’m not real thrilled with the new wrinkles in the qualifying format. I hate the last row shootout on Sunday. Hopefully we see a better race this year than last. The lack of cars having the ability to pass except on restarts was terrible.
