I don’t disagree with your thought process but let me play devils advocate for a minute. Let’s say next year we have 7 open spots because this year we took that 13th school on a project. We now get Sisley, Mullins, Harelson,Adams m, and Moreni to all commit. We now only have two spots for experienced portal players. I think Mullins and Sisley are probably on equal footing as cupps coming in as a freshman skill set wise. It handicaps us some

Oh sorry didn’t see it

Yep absolutely loved that he did that

They are also getting a good amount to do that. Leal seems very smart and is probably using it for future real estate endeavors

Let me try getting intel from my buddy that coaches at UNF on how good Anderson actually is. i asked him the following: Me: So rumor is Zach Anderson might be committing to IU. Is he power 5 talent especially in a bench role??? Him: Yeah I think he will be a good bench talent. We had a kid on a visit this weekend that actually visited Indiana a couple weeks ago Diamant Blazi. Me: Is Zach Anderson a good kid or how is his reputation? Him: Zach is a great kid…we have known him since 7th grade. We tried hard to get him but already had other guys in his position. sounds like we might get a good one and they might get Blazi. If they develop Blazi like I think they can that could be good for IU down the road if he liked us on our visit. For those who don’t know UNF’s head coach was a long time top assistant for Drew at Baylor.

Starting 5: Rice Carlyle MM Reneau Ballo next 5: Cupps/gallo Gallo/tucker Tucker/newton open spot Malone Newton got to practice a decent amount plus sit and learn and I think he explosive like Rice and Carlyle m. If he is confident and not scared of hurting his knee and is comfortable in the system he could be a player. It’s not like he was a 3 star coming in. If I remember correctly he also has a big wing span.

People will naturally panic if we don’t get him but it’s like the second quarter of portal season and our starting spots have been filled. We need a sharp shooter, someone who can back up the 3 and 4 (like an MM 2.0), and someone to backup Ballo (hopefully Malone). I think we will have plenty of options for each. I think it would be different to panic if we had Dayton kid supposedly committed and Nebraska convinces him to go somewhere else but CE isn’t a must have for me more like a cool he will help our team.

Oumar Ballo, Commits to INDIANA

As long as we have 8 donors that are willing to spend $1m a year or 4 donors $2m a year then you’re probably right. They also have to be committed to future inflation too -

Don’t forget Tuckers best strength is his midrange game too -

The kid from Dayton who came out probably costs too much money right? CE is visiting today. Was his sophomore playing time cut down specifically due to his back injury? If so I think he’s very valuable. To back up Malik the kid from Evansville would be a better option than Malone (I haven’t looked at his stats but don’t see how it can be higher than the Evansville kid) but if he’s truly going to wait to decide then he’s probably gonna get paid more than we are willing to spend because I think it’s a strategy for him to wait for when teams miss out on the players they want then are scrambling and will over pay. Who else could we go after besides Conwell, Dayton kid, and CE? If others are gonna wait to announce they are entering the portal then hopefully we are talking to shooters in back channels.
